Here’s to yet another week in the books! Take advantage of every minute of your weekend with these 5 things:
1. Craft a Charcuterie Board
Love meats & cheeses as much as we do? Well, you’ll enjoy them even more after putting in the time to make a decadent display! Follow these tips on picking cheeses, grab an assortment of cured meats, and get creative on a wooden cutting board or other serving plate. Check out Lady & Larder for plating inspiration (or place an order if you’re hosting people!).
2. Attend a movie in the park
Take along that charcuterie board you just made, pack other favorite snacks, tote your folding chairs and hit the park. As we head into summer, parks and venues everywhere host outdoor screenings of classic favorites. Happening this weekend in LA is The Wizard of Oz at Cinespia.
3. Try a new at-home workout
Although summer is the perfect time to head outside for a family bike ride or mountainside trail run, the reality is that most mornings we’re just trying to fit in a workout in the shortest amount of time. At-home workouts are the perfect alternative when you can’t quite make it to the gym. Speir Pilates instructor, Jenifer DelPozo teaches us some simple, yet challenging pilates moves you can accomplish right in your living room.
4. Host a cooking party
Gathering all your friends or family for a cooking party often times leads to great conversation and always means spending time with those who mean the most to you. What to make? These no-guilt taco bowls! They’re easy to whip up and don’t require any out-of-the-ordinary ingredients. We can’t be the only ones that crave Mexican food as the temperatures rise, right?!
5. Cheers to the weekend with your gals
Head to the beach or out on the patio this afternoon to toast to the end of another successful week! Aren’t quite the wine connoisseur or looking for a new sip to try? We’ve put together our summer picks along with wine-o and Thirsty Nest founder, Jackie Strum’s top choices.
What will you be doing this weekend?
