5 Comfortable Winter Travel Outfits

We have done a lot of traveling this winter and it can be hard to find outfits that are appropriate for the weather both where you are and where you are going, and that are also comfortable for long flights! We have a few go-to staples that consist of items you will want to bring on the trip anyway (more space for shoes!), as well as those that are as comfy as pjs, and those that leave you looking super chic even after a full day of travel. With a little inspiration from some of our favorite style bloggers you can recreate these comfortable winter travel outfits for your next adventure! Also wondering what should go in your carry-on? Not to worry, we have listed our must-have travel accessories too!

The Look:

Why We Love It:

  1. Baseball cap – The perfect accessory for a long travel day. It covers up the greasy post-flight hair, gives you some privacy from the crowds of strangers and looks cute and sporty all at the same time
  2. Oversized scarf – It is so multifunctional! You can make it a pillow, blanket, neck rest, head cover, eye mask, back support…whatever you need for the plane, a scarf like this does the trick!
  3. Sneakers – The kicks are perhaps the most crucial part of the airport outfit. Something that’s easily removed at TSA, comfortable in case your gate is 3 miles away but chic because you never know what cute stranger you’ll be next to on the flight

The Look:

Why We Love It:

  1. Workout leggings – You really can’t get more comfortable than a good pair of workout leggings but this look is slightly more elevated than your typical solid black leggings. Look for something with a little bit of flair and you’ll feel more like you put an outfit on!
  2. Cozy zip up – Layering is critical for travel. The plane is either way too hot or way too cold. Set yourself up for success with a comfy cozy zip up jacket so you’re prepared for anything!
  3. Carry all tote – You want to be sure you have a bag big enough to fit all the essentials but not so big that you can’t lug it through the airport. This all black option won’t get dirty and it looks cute too!

Why We Love It:

  1. The leather jacket – It’s structured and chic…definitely something that will go well with a daytime look or nicer dress for a night out on your trip! Since it’s a little bulkier, it helps to wear something like this on the flight and save room in your suitcase
  2. Black skinnies – There will be tons of opportunity to spill on yourself throughout your travels so eliminate that anxiety by rocking black on black…no one will ever know that your coffee ended up in your lap during turbulence!
  3. Flat boots – For a more elevated style, a flat black bootie has the same benefits of a sneaker. They’re comfy and easily removable but step up the game from athleisure to pro traveller.

The Look:

Why We Love It:

  1. Long Sweater – This sweater is PERFECTION. Wrap up in it, get cozy, basically wear a robe in public without anyone knowing.
  2. Beanie – Keep your head from touching the back of the airplane seat and stay warm all at the same time! Plus, you can pull it down and use it as an eye mask for a quick in-flight snooze
  3. Backpack – They’re all the rage these days and rightfully so. It’s so much more comfortable to carry your load on 2 shoulders than one and if you can get one this chick, why wouldn’t you?

The Look:

Why We Love It:

  1. Poncho sweater – Not only is this sweater slimming, it also looks pretty dressy even when paired with jeans! It leaves room for wrapping but also gives a little bit of edge to your outfit.
  2. The floppy hat – These hats are tricky to pack in a suitcase so if you’re planning on bringing one for your trip, just rock in on the flight! Even if you’re having a bad hair day, it’ll instantly make you look more put together!
  3. Chic luggage – No matter where you’re traveling, your luggage is part of your look so invest in some super cute pieces! You’ll look like a pro in no time.
