The Perfect Weekend Away At Hotel Drover in Fort Worth, Texas

We recently stayed at the Hotel Drover, located in the Historic Stockyards of Fort Worth, Texas and it was something out of a holiday movie. Christmas and winter cheer was elegantly sprinkled throughout the entire establishment. The minute you arrive to Hotel Drover, you are treated with impeccable service. The subtle scent throughout the cozy lobby that transcends out to a breathtaking outdoor space was our favorite! Read on as we reminisce about our extraordinary stay and inspire you to book your next weekend away at Hotel Drover.

Upon entering, you are welcomed not only by incredible concierge service, but also with the elegant charm this venue holds. As you walk through the main entrance, you are greeted by cozy lounge spaces and a view into the outdoor quarters.

Within the lobby, you’ll find a decadent fireplace surrounded by welcoming leather sofas and antlers that truly encapsulates the southern charm, holiday edition.

The rooms were elegant and had everything you could possibly need. The use of southern details in the art decor and amenities do not go unnoticed here. The personal touches (branding of leather luggage tags our first night for all Hotel Drover guests) and a fully stocked bar with snacks is just what you want when you’re in vacation mode. Hotel Drover, truly, has it all – including, the best location.

Top Notch Location

One of the best parts of our entire stay is that we did not have to take an Uber anywhere! Hotel Drover is conveniently located in the Historic Stockyards which brings all kinds of fun traditions to the area – including a twice daily cattle drive down the main road with a little history lesson!

During our stay, we had the pleasure of walking to the ice skating rink, getting our southern shopping in, grabbing rodeo tickets and lunch at Billy Bobs nextdoor. We also took (free) line dancing lessons while we were there – it’s a must!

Within Hotel Drover, there is a bar lounge near the lobby. (Coffee shop turns bar at night – it’s perfect), as well as a few fun shops! In addition to the hotel and shops, the restaurant 97 West also lives on the premise and it is spectacular!

97 West Restaurant

97 West Kitchen & Bar features re-imagined ranch classics, comfort food and Tex-Mex. Impeccable service, a cozy atmosphere and the most delicious (and memorable) meal of our entire trip was had at 97 West – the Wood Grilled Bison Tenderloin, served medium-rare with roasted beets and a potato medley, topped with shaved carrot, lemongrass vinaigrette and a roasted garlic butter demi sauce – chef’s kiss. We will certainly be back the next time we are in Fort Worth.

Must do’s while at Hotel Drover

01. Book (at least) one dinner at 97 West (they also serve breakfast)

02. Walk through the ‘backyard’ with the lights & gather around a fire pit

03. Enjoy the perks of the hotel to reach full zen. The hot tub, pool & cabanas are perfectly located in the ‘backyard’ of Hotel Drover.

We hope that we’ve inspired you to look into booking a stay at Hotel Drover in your near future. If we have, you’ll want to make sure you pack all the wellness essentials!
