Independence Day Engagement Session on the Lake

How romantic and stunning is this engagement session! I mean, a whole lake to yourselves while a photographer captures your love story with an American twist sounds pretty good to us. Michelle & David and their beloved dog, Eddie, were the subject of Koby & Terilyn Brown of Archetype Studio on a hot summers day in Houston, Texas and boy did the photos turn out amazing! Beautiful scenery, a floral dress, and an American flag is evidently all you need for an Independence Day engagement session!

Koby & Terilyn reminisce on this one fine day..

You probably wouldn’t guess this from the photos, but behind the scenes, Koby and I were wearing wellies and continuously fighting the muck around the pond to keep from falling in. It had been raining most of the night before. It was July…. Which in Houston means heat and humidity thick enough to choke on, and mosquitoes big enough to kick a hummingbird’s donkey. But none of that mattered in the still, sparkling light of dawn; and when the clouds broke just at the right moment to capture this gorgeous couple’s engagement story, it was all worth it.

The Americana styling was designed in celebration of the glorious 4th of July. We love telling a story of interaction that’s real and setting a scene that becomes an actual experience for our couples plays a big role. Michelle, David and even Eddie enjoyed a watermelon picnic after a serene boat ride in the pond. Love!
