Lucy Myers Events both designed and planned the beautiful day, so we want to hear what they have to say!
When one of our own in the wedding industry recently got engaged, we took it as an opportunity to celebrate her news by hosting a bridal shower lunch. Industry friends from Toronto + Muskoka got together to create this stunning colorful 70s boho bridal shower. We put ourselves in front of the camera this time! In the middle of another successful wedding season for all of us, it was nice to have a day to relax, have a little fun, and enjoy some good company amongst friends.
The bold colors really popped against the natural Muskoka backdrop. We complimented them with rich textures in the table top decor. The design inspiration focused on combining a mixture of patterns with strong solid colors. This brought an element of fun to the entire bridal shower that really allowed us to relax and let loose.
The hand-painted Kraft paper runner had a diamond and dots pattern, which we carried throughout the design. It is showcased in the milk glass vase details, the diamond cut glassware, and the layered place setting. You can also see it in the graphic print used in the invitation suite. We subtly wove the 1970’s into the design with the bride-to-be’s peacock chair and the bamboo pendant lights. And even in the wood flatware and the stemware. Finally, we incorporated the tangerine, turquoise and magenta color palette throughout the tablescape. It also popped against the fresh whites, neutral wood and lush forest backdrop.
