Feminine Floral Maternity Photos

This sweet mama to-be sure has a great group of talented gals by her side! Her friend and stylist, Kasey, dreamt up these feminine floral maternity photos, complete with a bit of Mexican flair to help her show off her baby bump! She pulled inspiration from the Mexican arch, cacti, and old wood at the location she chose for the shoot. When paired with bright pink florals and the perfect nude-blush gown, the shoot became the perfect celebration of the baby girl on the way.

Kasey says, I’ve known this expecting Texas beauty for many years now. And once I heard she was expecting, I asked if she would be willing to model for me in a styled shoot. With only a couple of weeks to spare, we were able to pull off a truly unique photo session. I think Mexi-maternity sums it up quite nice. I was raised in Texas a mere 90 miles from the Mexican border. So, by default, my style continues to pull from those beloved experiences & culture. A friend’s home south of Abilene, Texas, provided the most perfect backdrop. Complete with old Mexican doors encased in a beautiful rock archway, clay roof tiles, beautiful pink bougainvilleas, as well as unlimited amounts of cactus & succulents.

I envisioned a flattering off the shoulder dress that would accommodate the most perfect bump & Rent The Runway did not disappoint! I had remembered these fabulous Oaxaca made earrings from the esteemed artist, Fredrico Jimenez, that a border-town boutique had posted a few months prior. I knew they were statement enough to be just about our only accessory aside from florals, of course. Then, it was simply a matter of adding the right flowers. One stop to a local florist and I found these beauties. They are somewhat of a seasonal color which made me even more intrigued to use them. The pink hues made sense considering the baby girl (niña) on board, plus they photographed beautifully on film thanks to my talented friend JoAnna Robertson.
