How to Make the Most of a Three Day Weekend

Did someone say three day weekend? Yes, you heard that right, with labor day right around the corner, we are eyeing out the three day weekend and preparing for how we want to make the most of it. So if you are all too familiar with that Sunday night feeling when you think to yourself, “what did I even do this weekend?” Then this article is for you! Scroll on to read the 5 ways we make the most of a three day weekend.

.01 – Schedule out your day’s

Nothing will set your weekend plans up for success like actually making the plans. Sounds simple, doesn’t it? But in practice how many people actually plan out what they want to do with extra time off, or even just a weekend. The same efficiency practices that work in your job are what will work when trying to make the most of your time. Now, we are not saying plan every little detail just a broad idea of the activities you want to do and make sure they are all obtainable.

.02 – Pick one thing off of your bucket list

We all have an ever-growing bucket list, whether that looks like a physical list or it is a Pinterest board of ideas. Taking inspiration and saving ideas is a list of what you want to try. So we recommend going through your Instagram saved folder and your Pinterest and see what you have saved. Could be a DIY, or a place you want to travel, which takes us to our next tip…

.03 – Take a day trip to somewhere new

No matter where you live guaranteed there is somewhere you can travel to in a day’s time in the car. So, if you are itching to get out of the house and go on an adventure, then a three day weekend is the perfect time to go! If you are in the US then we have already done all the work for you and rounded up our favorite road trips.

.04 – Cook that recipe you saved on Instagram

We all have that one recipe we have been dying to try. For us it’s a penne pasta from scratch with a creamy pesto butter sauce, dreamy right? Well, what could be a better time to cook up that dish you keep saying “Ohhh I need to make that” about. We will help you with the answer, the time is now, there is no better time! Plus your spouse will love either being able to help out with the fun process or reap the benefits of your adventure. Either way, it’s a win-win situation!

.05 – Unplug from the world

Did you really think we would write about making the most of your time and not mention how necessary it is to unplug and refresh your mind? Nothing can dampen your spirits like the pressures of work, and spending too much time on social media. We have tried and failed at the process of trying to live in the moment and staying connected, the two can not coincide.
