In this day and age, we know how important the need for modern party goods is in the world of at-home entertainment. If you’re anything like us, we are always looking for fun and affordable ways to spruce up our next company party, holiday soiree, birthday bash, or even our weekly (we wish it was nightly) at-home wine night with the girls. Well, we called in reinforcement and are here to introduce you to the secret behind all of our party goods! Meet Tina, the CEO of Ellie and Piper Party Boutique. She’s here to answer some of our burning questions on owning a business, how she came up with the cutest name ever, and everything in between!

We are in love with everything on your site. How did you come up with such a unique idea for a shop?

I was planning my daughter’s first birthday and was running around from store to store all over town trying to gather all the cute party supplies and ran into the problem of finding items that were too generic. I wanted to make it easier for busy party throwers to host a beautiful party with modern and trendy items and decided to create an online party boutique. When customers shop with us, they are able to select from our wide range of carefully curated party goods sourced from right at home in the USA and internationally. Each order is hand packaged with soft pink tissue paper, sealed with a gold foil label and includes a sweet treat sample of the finest candy you’ll ever taste as well as a personalized handwritten note. Customers have a full-on boutique shopping experience without ever having to leave the house!

How did you come up with the name Ellie + Piper?

Like many women out there, I struggled to the road of motherhood. I was pregnant in 2016 three times. The first two, sadly and unfortunately, ended in miscarriages. It was a painful and traumatic phase in my life wondering why my body was failing me and if I’d ever get a chance to become a mom. Ellie and Piper were the two top names on our list of baby names at the time and I thought it’d be a beautiful tribute to their memories. It was my goal for families to celebrate life – big milestones and everyday occasions – with Ellie and Piper. I do have a daughter now who is the absolute light of my life and the reason why I work so hard every day.

What is your favorite part about being a girl boss and owning your own business?

Oh gosh! Where do I start? I love standing in my warehouse surrounded by the most beautiful paper goods. I love hand wrapping every single package and envisioning how the customer will style the decor or how the guest of honor will feel on his or her special day. I love connecting with a growing and engaging community on social media and sharing party inspiration ideas. I also love being able to set my own work hours to fit my family needs like dropping and picking my daughter up from school. When customers buy from us, they are not only supporting my dream to have a fulfilling career helping others but also investing into her future – dance lessons and summer camp and college tuition.

How do you stay inspired with new business ideas?

By following my customers on Instagram! They always share the best new and upcoming brands that they love. I get to follow their everyday lives and see what they like and dislike. They reach out when they want to throw a bash and share their ideas or specifically ask for what they need and I go on the hunt for them! I also like to travel and visit local gift shops in other cities to get inspiration from different places. When I find something I love, I share it right back with my customers.
