How To Spend a Girls Day, Filled with Self-Care

THIS POST IS SPONSORED BY AVA GRACE VINEYARDS. THANKS FOR SUPPORTING THE BRANDS THAT SUPPORT INSPIRED BY THIS!

Self-care is all the hype these days and we are all about it. When it’s centered on true rest and filling your soul with the things and people you love, it can be a great way to reset. And we all need to reset every once in a while, ideally weekly. But a common misconception is that this has to be done all alone—albeit this is necessary sometimes, especially for introverts, but a lot of us need human interaction, laughter, and time spent with our closest friends to truly recharge. Insert the perfect girls day, focused on self-care and loving one another. We collaborated with AVA Grace Vineyards to put together the perfect self-care day, because for us, wine is something we love. C’mon, who can relate?! Plus, it goes hand in hand with a day with our girls. Here is how to host a self-care day of your own, full of your favorite people and your favorite things…

1. Make it Cozy

The secret to an easy set up for entertaining? Create a cozy floor lounge by throwing plush pillows and fuzzy blankets down so everyone can snuggle up on the floor. This arrangement immediately makes any fete more warm and inviting. Plus, it leaves room for activities…

2. Create Something Meaningful

We decided to make the main event of our girls day making vision boards. Focusing on self-love and care totally entails thinking about your hopes and dreams, and a vision board is a great way to put them down on paper! Plus, with all of your friends around, you have a community of encouragers as well as people to bounce around ideas with, plan adventures with, and be excited with. Here’s what you need:

Scissors
Tape, Glue Dots, or Push Pins
Magazines and/or a Printer + Paper

Have everyone bring a poster or cork board to pin their images on. You can rip out inspiring images or motivating quotes from magazines or print them from Pinterest. You know that saved folder on Instagram? If you have a photo printer that hooks up to your phone, now is a great time to print out those images and put them to use! Hair inspo? Dream home? Positive affirmations? Put ’em on there!

3. Indulge A Little

While crafting, we poured and sipped (and sipped some more) and chatted, and laughed, and ate some of our favorite things. This AVA Grace Rosé is refreshing and bright, and pairs perfectly with strawberries, raspberries, and pomegranate seeds. It’s medium bodied with a dry finish, because we don’t like our rosé too sweet, especially when pairing it with sweets! If you are enjoying this delicious wine with dinner, try it with slow-roasted chicken and vegetable carbonara (excuse us while we drool!).

Speaking of sweet… we couldn’t resist providing something sweet, er… a lot of sweet things. From light and airy merengues to fluffy cupcakes to dark chocolate (a must!) we had a full dessert bar, because loving ourselves means giving ourselves the OK to enjoy treats every now and then, and a day with our girls is the optimal opportunity.

We are also big fans of AVA Grace Chardonnay! As we head into spring, this crisp varietal is what we reach for on a regular basis. It features a smooth finish with rich notes of almonds and vanilla, and a delicate touch of oak. Not only is it delightful on its own thanks to bright fruit flavors like white peach, apple, and lemon, but also when paired with seafood. Planning a spring crawfish boil or rounding out winter with a warm cup of clam chowder? Pick this!

Besides spending time with the girls, discussing our dreams and creating vision boards, and indulging in our favorite wines, here are a few of our other favorite ways to indulge in a little self-care:

Going for long walks
Face Masks (duh!)
Yoga
Watching the sunset
Meditating
Setting Intentions

How would you spend a self care day?
