First birthday parties are one of our favorite things to share on our baby blog! Why? Because party planners and moms come up with the cutest themes for their kiddos and go ALL OUT on their first birthday celebration. This colorful fiesta first birthday party is no exception. Paige, blogger and mama behind The Love Designed Life, decorated the day with Mexican leather furniture, Cacti inspired treats, and tassel balloons. Her baby, Diego, even had a hanging macrame highchair! We also shared Paige’s daughter’s first birthday a few years back. So, we’re excited to share all the details of Diego’s day too!
Diego’s First Fiesta had been such a labor of love and I am so happy with how it all came together! For each of my kiddo’s, we went big on the first birthday (you can see my daughter’s unicorn party here). And our third little bird’s was no different! I think the first year is such a major milestone as a family, so it’s worth celebrating with everyone who saw you through it.
My idea for the theme of this party came together pretty organically. My husband is part Mexican and we both love Latin names [hence, our children’s names], Mexican food + culture, etc. Also, the Arizona desert is finally starting to feel like home-now that we have been here nearly two years. We barely found out we were pregnant with Diego when we first moved here. So now, we are embracing the cactus! I wanted to combine the traditional Mexican fiesta with a more modern desert twist. There is a lot of color going on here – especially for me, whose favorite color is white! But, I actually love the way it all came together.
