Happy (almost) Memorial Day Weekend! We don’t know about you, but as the weather warms up we find ourselves day dreaming of the weekend and what fun activities are on the horizon, or where we’re heading for brunch. So, we decided to launch a new series featuring 5 things to do this weekend! Whether you’re looking to spend the night at a concert, or get away entirely for the 3 day weekend, here’s our list of fun things to pencil into your weekend plans.
1. Attend a food event
There is always a new trend popping up in the food industry and what better way to try them all than attending a food event? We are talking about festivals devoted to tacos, chocolate, and burgers (oh my!) plus every beverage you can think of. Most festivals will also feature the best of the best when it comes to local restaurants and chefs. A win win in our book! Happening this weekend in LA is Eat Drink Vegan.
2. Dig into a new book
There are a few books we’ve had our eyes on lately, and at the end of a week’s worth of work, taking time for yourself to slow down is important. Pick up a new read and hit the beach, the nearest park, or wherever your happy place may be for some much needed R&R.
3. Take a quick road trip to a place you’ve never been before
Sometimes after a long week, escaping the city is exactly what the weekend calls for – especially on a long weekend! With apps like Airbnb and Hotel Tonight, weekend traveling is super convenient and hassle free. Head to Napa or San Diego with our weekend guides!
4. Make a new healthy spring recipe
As we’re in the midst of Spring, farmers markets everywhere are showing off their freshest produce. Take a walk to the closest farmers market with a friend and grab some goods to throw together a new dish. Once you’ve got the goods, whip up one of these recipes featuring spring produce.
5. Master a Memorial Day Weekend BBQ Cocktail
Our weekend will be filled with family barbecues and beach sessions. Who’s with us? What better time to craft a festive cocktail, like this popsicle topped margarita, and cheers to summer than Memorial Day Weekend?
