Hotel Hotspot: Ritz Carlton, Bachelor Gulch

Last month, I had the chance to take a quick ‘babymoon’ to Beaver Creek, Colorado and stay at the Ritz Carlton, Bachelor Gulch. Getting away to the mountains always feels like a nice retreat from the hustle of everyday life and a breath of fresh alpine air was exactly what I needed! I’m excited to share this mini-vacation and my favorite activities to take part in during the summer months in CO.

We couldn’t have picked a better spot to stay for our time in Beaver Creek than the Ritz Carlton. Truly though… the food, the service, the people, the venue… it was one of my favorite mountain experiences. Here are the reasons why it was one of my favorite places that I have ever stayed.

Accomodations

I always appreciate a good-looking resort, and the Ritz doesn’t skimp on mountain charm. It’s the perfect balance of modern and rustic with spacious rooms, wood beamed ceilings, and stone walls.

Spa and Pool

What resort experience would be complete without a luxury spa? But really, the rocky grottos, saunas, and eucalyptus showers are world class – and completely included in your stay! I had a mini massage and my husband did the grotto pool circuit where you go into a sauna and then plunge into a freezing cold pool and repeat with a routine they give you. It has amazing health benefits. I couldn’t do it because I am pregnant, but next time I visit I am going to give it a try. I lounged by the pool one of the days we were there and ordered the best cocktails and lunch to enjoy while we lounged and laid out.

Dining

The restaurants on the property are not only eye catching, but delicious as well. The bar and lounge areas are perfect for relaxing after a day of adventure in the afternoon and then transition into an incredible spot to dine in the evenings. You have to get the Bison Burger or the Tacos topped with famous jalepeños and pretzel bites on the side. I’m telling you the food is sooo good there! At night we enjoyed roasting marshmallows over a campfire as we sat in their over sized rocking chairs. Idyllic.

Kid AND Dog friendly.
There are families everywhere -and they brought their dogs with them too! You can travel with your kiddos and fur babies and fit right in. It is a place I want to bring my kids when we come back! What I loved most is that it is intimate and cozy enough for a get away for two or an 100 person wedding, and yet easy going enough where you can bring your own family with you.

The Scenery

If you visit during the winter, you are sure to have unbelievable views of the snow covered mountains surrounding the resort, but the summer months are just as pretty! I couldn’t get over how green it was. The views from our room overlooked acres and acres of green mountain tops and I even got to see some deer grazing around the property. The Ritz also does a great job of offering a taste of the season through nature hikes and specialty floral cocktails.

The incredible views not only make for an idyllic vacation, but also a picturesque location for a wedding or honeymoon! We were able to see multiple areas of the property that cater to weddings & receptions beautifully and seriously hope we will be back to visit for a wedding sometime soon!
