As this year comes to a close, it’s a sentimental feeling to see just how much we have grown in 12 months. Some of us may have achieved goals we never thought were possible, met new friends, or maybe, received clarity on how we want to grow in the future. The New Year is the perfect time to plan goals for yourself as you prepare for 2022. However, these don’t have to be impossible or unreachable. Trust us, we know the disappointment making a New Years’ resolutions that we can’t keep up with in the busyness of everyday life. 01. Waking Up Earlier

Not a morning person? It’s okay. Waking up early in the morning can be difficult. If you are constantly feeling swamped, stressed, and like you don’t have enough hours in the day, this resolution will be beneficial for you. There are so many benefits to waking up early in the morning, but the biggest benefit is time. Waking up early gives you extra time to work out, enjoy a healthy breakfast, journal, or anything you feel is necessary to start your day. This will relieve stress and increase productivity in your life. Overall, it makes those goals more attainable. If this sounds great, but you physically can’t get up in the morning, try incorporating a thorough night routine. Getting to bed early and making sure you give yourself an hour to properly unwind will increase your sleep quality…and your chances of getting up in the morning!

02. Having A Consistent Workout Routine

Does “New Year, New Me” sound familiar? Starting to work out, or getting back into the gym, is always a popular resolution. For many, working out sounds great and maybe you’ll go for a month or two, but staying consistent feels impossible. It’s disappointing to not get your desired results right away, and it takes hard work to achieve your fitness goals. If you are looking to stay consistent and achieve those fitness goals this year, figure out what workout style you love. It takes work, but the results are worth it. It might even be your newest way to destress. Once you find a style you love, you can come up with a workout plan to implement into your daily routine!

03. Eating Healthier

Similar to creating a consistent workout routine, you have to learn which healthy foods you love in order to eat better. A healthy diet is all about listening to your body and finding out which foods fuel you the best. Once you have discovered which foods benefit you the most, come up with a meal plan. Most of the time, bad eating habits come from insufficient planning. By planning out healthy meals for the week, you can avoid the random cravings that lead to an unhealthy diet.

04. Decreasing Your Screen Time

Sure, scrolling through Instagram, Pinterest and TikTok is a great way to kill time and entertain ourselves. The downside, however, is that the information overload is real. The constant scrolling and intake of information allows us to easily lose focus. If you find yourself scrolling for hours on end, replace your screen time with other activities. This could be reading, journaling, goal-planning, or working on the other resolutions mentioned earlier. Trust us, putting your phone down will increase time to focus on these New Year’s resolutions! Your eyes, brain and, future self will thank you.

05. Planning Out Your Goals

Do you have a lot of goals for 2022 but don’t know where to start? The key to achieving your goals is writing them down. When you write your goals down it brings them into existence, not just in your brain. To get started grab a cute notebook, and write a checklist of everything you hope to accomplish in 2022. From there, make checkpoints in the middle and the end of the year. If you want even more detail, create action steps for each goal on how you can achieve them. This way, you are holding yourself more accountable for achievement!
