Bright & Blooming Floral-Filled Fairytale Wedding

As if marrying the love of your life wasn’t enough, the decor of this floral-filled fairytale wedding is the perfect match. The floor-to-ceiling windows in the ceremony space give you the feeling of nature without ever stepping foot outside. The florals at the end of the aisle are the perfect match for them. Transitioning from the ceremony, each aspect of the reception is show-stopping! We want one gorgeous hanging floral display over our table all of the time. It is easy to bask in the beauty of a floral-filled fairytale wedding like this!

Stephanie Roper of Keestone Events gives us the perfect background to this floral-filled fairytale wedding, an interview with the bride herself,

Taylor and Jordan wanted a day that felt truly like them as a couple. We focused on a whimsical and flowery style with a touch of boho-flare and vintage elements. They were executed in an exquisite and understated way; it turned out to be precisely what they hoped for!

They knew they wanted a neutral color palette and every touch to have a dreamy and airy feel. The day was to be intimate and relaxed. They wanted to ensure the details added the character and sentiment while still keeping it comfortable and lighthearted. From the delicate flowers in the champagne glasses after the ceremony to the hand-dyed silk ribbons on each place setting, every detail was thought of and meaningful.

Tell us about your love story – how did you meet?

Jordan and I met through mutual friends at a party while attending SMU. We had been neighbors for a year beforehand but didn’t know each other at the time. Jordan played football, so he wasn’t usually out with our group of friends. He happened to come out that Saturday night and the rest is history!

What was your vision for the wedding?

To be honest, our vision really developed once the planning process was underway. I wanted our wedding to be “us” and to incorporate elements of my own style: flowery and whimsical with a bit of a boho-flare and vintage elements, but all in an elegant and understated way.

I knew I wanted a neutral color palette and every touch to have a dreamy and airy feel. We also wanted the day to be intimate and relaxed, making sure our details added the character and sentiment we wanted. This, all while still keeping it comfortable and lighthearted for our guests. With just this, we hit the ground running with Keestone Events and from working with Allen Tsai to capture our day in the most ethereal way, to the velvet vintage furniture we had at cocktail hour, Sarah and Stephanie helped us bring every idea (and more!) to life.

Were any sentimental moments/ items incorporated into the wedding?

Throughout all of the main events, we incorporated many sentimental moments and items. These made the day that much more special. A few of my favorites were having a first look with both Jordan and my dad, dancing to the love song from our favorite movie that we saw when we were first dating (called “About Time,” which is fitting considering we waited so long!), drinking the same kind of champagne we had on the night we first met, writing our vows, and having Jordan’s sisters speak at, and my uncle officiate the ceremony.

What unique elements or DIY details did you include?

My mom and I both love anything crafty, and quite a few details and elements of the wedding were things we either handmade or took part in creating. Being in two different states at times made this tricky, but thank goodness for FaceTime! One of my favorite DIY details was the bridal party gifts: I handmade the earrings my bridesmaids wore (which matched my earrings), and my cousin made the monogrammed leather toiletry bags for the groomsmen. Whether it was tying the hand-dyed silk into bows for the place settings, scallop-trimming the menus, picking out which vintage votives and trays to use at cocktail hour, or designing our invitations on handmade paper with vintage stamps, my mom and I added in unique and crafty touches wherever we could!

One truly unique aspect of our ceremony was the vines we had scaling the glass ceremony room. The unpredictability of Texas weather made us hesitant to plan a completely outdoor wedding. So our amazing and talented florist, Jessica, and her team at Root and Bloom brought the outdoors inside! The scaling and wispy vines crawling up the glass wall behind us made for the most breathtaking and unique ceremony that overlooked the outdoor cocktail hour space.
