The Best Baby Products for Moms On-The-Go

If you have kids, you know going annnnywhere (even a 5 minute trip to the grocery store!) feels like a complicated chore. Between car seats, strollers, diaper bags and carries, it can quickly spiral into a very overwhelming situation. Not to mention when travel requires an overnight stay… All we can say is bring on the wine. Kidding! Mostly 🙂 To help guide you through this overwhelming time we are rounding up the best baby products for moms on the go! With these, transportation and travel will be a cinch. (OK, at least a bit easier!)

Car Seats:

This is one of the most important decisions you will make for your kiddo because car seats are life. Literally. They will be in one for years, riding in it wherever you go and you may be lugging it in and out of cars when taking vacations or long trips. Because of this a few things are important to consider – safety, ease of installation in the car, ease of getting your kids in/out and weight (if you have a heavy car seat you know this is something to consider). Between all of our kiddos, we’ve zeroed in on our favorites – the Maxi Cosi Pria 85 and the Britax Advocate ClickTight ARB. We love the weight range the Pria 85 offers (kids can ride it in from 14-85 pounds!) and the safety rating of the Advocate. If you’re a frequent flyer, it’s worth it to invest in a travel bag. It’ll keep your car seat in tip top shape and bonus – car seats check for free with no weight restrictions, so load that thing up with whatever doesn’t fit in your suitcase!

Carries:

We don’t know where we’d be without baby wearing. It has changed the mom game! Most carriers and wraps come with a pretty hefty price tag, so you don’t want to choose wrong. When it comes to our babies and toddlers, there are 3 we rely on regularly. When our babies are small and extra fragile our go to is Solly – it’s the best wrap to keep our little babies close and cozy. As our kids get older we transition to the Ergo 360. Eventually your baby will no longer be content facing you, so the forward facing option is a MUST. Our last favorite is the Stokke My Carrier and we use this one especially when out hiking or adventuring with our littles. It has aluminum support rods which are great for when wearing your baby on your back.

Strollers

We recently discovered the Austlen Entourage  that would be great for closer trips (to the beach/lake, camping, etc) as it’s carrying capacity is un.real. It can hold up to 150 pounds of stuff, plus 2 kids! You can also add a cargo carrier and viola – you have a wagon, shopping cart, luggage cart of anything else you may need! For flying, we just heard about the Babyzen Yoyo + – it folds up small enough to fit in an overhead bin and airline certified so you can actually board with it. No more waiting for gate or baggage checked strollers!

Sleeping:

If you’re heading somewhere overnight with a baby or toddler, chances are you’re stressing about the sleeping arrangements. Been there, done that. And we have solutions! For babies we can’t recommend the DockATot enough! It’s as cozy as a bassinet, but much easier to transport. For older kiddos, we rely on our the Baby Bjorn travel crib. It folds up nicely, is easy to travel with and comfortable for our kiddos.

Diaper Bags:

We have a few other favorite “get around town” tricks up our sleeve we wanted to share! Our newest must have is a Paperclip Diaper Bag. We’ve tried every kind of diaper bag imaginable (traditional diaper bags, oversized purses with inserts, back packs, cross body, etc) and so far this one is the clear winner! It’s compact, but has plenty of storage, is practical and stylish (even our husbands don’t object to wearing it). Oh, and did we mention it has a built in changing pad? #winning.

Misc:

Over the years our kids have picked up colds and bugs from the grocery store, so we started using Ritzy Sitzy covers. They sit on any grocery cart and not only make for a more comfortable seat, but they help protect our littles from easily spread germs.
