Balancing a demanding career and a household of four kids is no small feat. Over the years, I’ve discovered rhythms and strategies that make working from home not only manageable but actually enjoyable. With the right systems, a little structure, and a lot of grace, I’ve found ways to show up fully as a CEO and as a mom.
Here are my go-to tips that help me make it all work day after day.

1. Start the Day Grounded
Before emails and school drop-offs, I carve out time for prayer and gratitude. Pair it with your favorite ritual, lemon water, coffee, tea, or a green juice, to make it feel like sacred, personal time. Starting grounded sets the tone for the entire day.
2. Move Your Body
Working from home often means more sitting and less natural movement, which can take a toll on both energy and mood. For me, exercise is a daily reset button. A walk, a quick workout, or even stretching helps clear my head and keeps me focused.
3. Define Your “On-the-Clock” Hours
When my kids are at school, I treat that time as sacred work hours. It’s tempting to squeeze in errands or coffee dates, but protecting that window ensures I can be fully present at work. Then, when my kids come home, I can fully transition into mom mode, guilt-free.
4. Create Kid-Friendly Systems
Simple systems reduce the frequency of constant requests when kids are home, allowing me to finish a few tasks. Think: snack drawers they can access on their own, chore charts, or “to-do’s before screen time.” These little hacks build independence and give me space to wrap up work.
5. Work in Focused Blocks
Instead of multitasking all day, I batch my work. Meetings go together, quiet hours are reserved for deep focus, and messages get answered in set time slots. This helps me protect my energy and avoid the constant role-switching that can be so draining.
6. Let Tools Do the Heavy Lifting
My Google Calendar is my secret weapon. I color-code everything, my work, the kids’ activities, and my husband’s schedule, so I can see our lives at a glance. What used to feel chaotic now feels organized and clear, and it’s truly been a game-changer.
7. Choose Progress Over Perfection
You’ll never check every box at work or at home. Instead, focus on what truly moves the needle, whether that’s leading a team meeting or sitting down for a family dinner. Let go of perfection and celebrate progress.
8. Invite Kids to Pitch In
Even young kids can take on responsibilities that build independence and lighten your load. From folding towels to unloading the dishwasher or setting the table, these small tasks empower them while giving you one less thing to juggle.
9. Flexibility Over Guilt
Some days your family will need more of you, other days your business will. Balance doesn’t mean splitting your time equally; it’s about showing up where it matters most.

At the end of the day, there’s no one-size-fits-all formula for working from home moms. What matters is finding the rhythms that keep your household running, your work thriving, and your heart at peace. With structure, flexibility, and a whole lot of grace, it’s possible to lead both at home and in your career.
