Dusty Blue Desert Wedding in Sedona, Arizona

What pairs with the burnt orange of a desert sunset better than a soft hue of blue? This dusty blue desert wedding in Sedona, Arizona combines the colors of its locale with pastel accents in what can only be described as the perfect pairing. Much like the bride and groom! Ashley & Matt planned the perfect day underneath the Arizona sun, with the stunning carved mountains that Sedona is known for as the backdrop. Swoon! You’ll love the scenery, the decor, the pretty palette… well, all of it really!

Weddings are the culmination of so many fateful choices, stories leading to a new future that—if we believe in romance—is meant to be. For Ashley Wrenn and Matt Aragona this couldn’t possibly be truer!

Ashley is the remarkable lady boss behind Hello, Bird (a design studio that offers Calligraphy, Hand-Lettering, and Style Services!). I’ve had the pleasure of working with her on numerous weddings over the last few years, and have witnessed her superior eye for style first-hand. When she and Matt approached me about photographing their wedding, I knew it was going to be truly spectacular and I was thrilled to sign on! In fact, it felt a little like destiny, because we share the same last name (though spelled differently).

Mind you, the serendipity doesn’t stop there! We all know that finding the right dress, is a crucial step in the wedding planning process. For Ashley, the winning dress was a beautiful Silk Georgette gown with hand-beading, embroidered details, and dramatic key-hole back. It was everything the bride dreamed, and its name, as fate would have it, was the “WrenGown!” How’s that for kismet?

With these nods from the universe, we headed for picturesque Sedona, Arizona. Ashley and Matt took great care to celebrate and embrace the mesmerizing natural landscape. The invite suite that Ashley designed gave a subtle nod to the blues and grays of native agave plants. While Sarah’s Garden provided the perfect desert florals with succulents, pale suede-like greenery, and the occasional pink or white bloom. Every detail of the day was a dream, and it was an honor to be there to capture it!
