Where to Stay in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic

Last month we were able to travel to Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic. If you have never been to this part of the Punta Cana, it’s a tropical oasis in the middle of the Caribbean. Sound enticing yet? While there, we stayed at The Royal Suites Turquesa on the Palladium Resort property. This beachfront location was, needless to say, ideal for beach and water activities. Here’s a look into what we did there and why you should stay at The Royal Suites on your next visit.

From the second we set foot on the property, the endless opportunities for entertainment, food, and activities were apparent. Although we stayed at the exclusive, adults-only, sector of Grand Palladium Resort, all the amenities of the property were available to us. This includes the spa, recreation center, shopping boutiques, numerous dining options, and seven incredible pools. Did we mention the beach? This was first on our list of things to check out. The resort is situated right on Bavaro Beach which means bright aqua blue water and white sand. Oh! And the stretch of beach in front of the Royal Suites features Balinese beds to enjoy it in style.

After checking out the property, we followed the butler service to our rooms where welcome gifts awaited us. The suites are exquisite and beg to be relaxed in! If we weren’t so eager to enjoy all Punta Cana has to offer, we could have stayed lounged there all day! In addition to a relaxing and beautiful atmosphere, the rooms also feature terraces, wifi, fully stocked (and included) minibars, and for some, a hot tub! Are you convinced?

While at Grand Palladium Hotels & Resort, we were able to taste much of the delicious food offerings. Most food options on the property are served buffet style due to the all-inclusive nature of the resort. However, there are a few typical service style restaurants we recommend you try. First of all, you HAVE to make it to Bhogali. Bhogali is the on-site Indian dining experience and it will make your taste buds go wild! In addition to mouth watering flavors, the restaurant boasts traditional Indian decor, ornate and colorful. We also recommend reserving a table at La Parilla Steakhouse. You won’t regret dining on juicy steaks, charcuterie, and a to-die-for Caprese salad.

We could hardly wait to tell you about the food, but the truly enticing party of Punta Cana lies in the scenery. One day, we ventured out from Bavaro Beach on a Catamaran cruise. We snorkled amongst colorful reef and fish and stood on a sand bar for hours enjoying the crystal clear (and very warm!) water. We enjoyed every part of this experience; it’s must try on your visit.

When you are in such a stunning place, it’s obligatory to take full advantage of being outdoors. So, why hit up the indoor spa when you can experience a massage on the beach? Picture laying in the aforementioned Balinese bed while the sound of the waves crashing lulls you into a peaceful rest. Meanwhile, you’re also experiencing a relaxing massage from one of the resort’s specialists. Top it off with champagne and does it get any better?

You may be traveling to Punta Cana for vacation, but if you are traveling for a wedding (maybe your own!) you’re in for a real treat. The Weddings by Palladium team creates fabulous oceanfront ceremonies and receptions right on property. They are not only able to offer a terrific setting, but also a terrific design thanks to simply stunning principles. We were able to take a peek at a few of the venue locations on site as well as some of the incredible decor they are able to execute. Couples who choose to wed in this magical location will, no doubt, have an unrivaled celebration!
