A Farmers Market Baby Shower

Everyone wants ‘locally grown’ and ‘farm raised’ these days, right? Well, these ladies took it one step further than food and made it the theme of this farmers market baby shower! With the expecting mom’s childhood home/flower nursery as the venue, it made perfect sense! But the farm to table theme didn’t stop there! From egg carton place settings to a dessert cart set-up just like the farmer’s market, every detail of the day was just right.

The expecting mama and guest of honor, Adair Currie, shares…

My dear friend Stacy, owner of Olivia Grace Paperie and my mom co-hosted this adorable shower for me. I didn’t want a huge fuss, I just wanted my favorite people and yummy breakfast food served. Keeping it simple was the goal, and having it at my parents house was such a treat! I grew up on close to 40 acres, and when I was younger, our family owned a wholesale flower nursery. We lovingly call it “the farm” to this day. That is where Stacy drew her inspiration for the “Locally grown and Farm Raised” theme.

I am so glad that it was a complete surprise because it was the most amazing day I could have ever hoped for. My mom even pulled up our Massey Ferguson tractor as a backdrop for the day! A part of me wishes I had sat on it while opening gifts.

Some of my favorite details were really the most touching. Stacy stayed true to the farm to table theme and built a little ‘market’ display for the desserts and even included some of our fresh eggs that the chickens laid that morning. At each of the place settings were little berry baskets with local honey in a mini honey bear, the sweetest veggie shaped cookies, and a little piece of lavender gingham fabric to tie it all together!

I honestly am so blessed to be surrounded by some incredible women and am so thankful for Stacy and my mom to have put together something so perfect to celebrate our little surprise baby. It was more than I could have even asked for and is a day I will always look back on and memories I will cherish.
