For a mama-to-be who owns her own vintage rental company, this backyard baby shower on our baby blog today, is the perfect theme. A bohemian flair gave this growing family’s already picturesque home a fun, girly, vibe. The shower incorporated hanging macrame, antique lounge furniture, mimosas, donuts, and flower crown crafting. Sounds like an ideal celebration if you ask us!
Mama to be, Lauren, shares, When I started thinking about my baby shower and celebrating the life growing inside me I was very inspired by nature. My style is definitely more eclectic and I knew having a backyard baby shower at my home would be the perfect backdrop. I was also inspired by the tropical palm trees surrounded the pool in my backyard. Renee from Heart Swell helped to bring my vision to life. The flower crown bar was such a fun way to kick-off the shower. Everyone was so impressed with their flower crown making skills, it was so fun to watch and admire all the girls wearing their pretty floral creations. The following day I was thrilled to see all my girlfriends posting pictures of their babies and their fur babies wearing the flower crowns they made.
Since I co-own a vintage furniture rental company- Urban Vintage with my partner in crime Anna Bordner, we took full advantage of incorporating some of our favorite pieces throughout the shower. Guests enjoyed a boho inspired lounge area outside in the grass. A vintage palm leaf green sofa with some funky chairs printed chairs, peacock chair and a vintage rug set the perfect vibe for a fun place for guests to hang out.
I made a backdrop for photos with different types of yarn and textiles. It was so much fun to make and I loved how it turned out. The backdrop was adorned with more local greenery from my yard. We added a vintage aztec rug and a white peacock chair and poof to finish it off.
Mimosas were served a top of our beautiful wood vintage buffet in various colored glass goblets. Also- most people know I’m a craft beer lover (when I’m not pregnant) 🙂 so for something a little different, beer mimosas were served from our favorite local brewery Civil Society Brewing Company.
Guests enjoyed brunch outside in the patio area on our Declan farmhouse tables which were complimented by copper tabouret chairs and various vintage wood chairs. Definitely the perfect Urban Vintage vibe since we are obsessed with anything copper right now. DIY greenery cut straight from my yard filled vintage glass bottles as did various potted plants. For a sweet treat I opted for a donut bar instead of a cake. A local favorite, Jupiter Donut Factory makes some killer donuts and my cousin/bff/host helped make this happen. Loved how the donut bar looked with assorted cake stands a top of our mid-century metal hair-pin leg wood table.
