Travel Hotspot: Villa del Palmar Loreto

Our stay at Villa del Palmar in Loreto, Mexico, was so incredible! The brand new resort is beautiful, and the secluded location made for such a relaxing retreat! There was no shortage of delicious food and things to do – and it didn’t hurt that we were greeted with an exotic cocktail everywhere we went!

When we first arrived at the resort, we were taken aback at how private the location really was. The hotel is about 30 minutes from the Loreto airport, and has its own private beach and bay area overlooking the islands. We were greeted with lemonade + mint cocktails and retreated to our rooms to relax after a morning of traveling. Every room felt like an amazing suite and featured a full kitchen, living room, bedroom, and giant balcony. That night for dinner we were hosted at a private table on the beach with a four course meal prepared by one of the resort’s many talented chefs. When they brought out dessert – personal lava cakes – we were pretty sure we were in heaven!

On the second day of our trip, we had breakfast in the presidential suite and went on a tour of the hotel grounds. One of our favorite features was the unique private honeymoon suite setup! For newlyweds (and anyone else that wants to!) the resort has a “glamping” suite, which is essentially a deluxe hotel room enclosed within a tent on the beach. It’s totally secluded from the rest of the resort, and has beautiful views of the beach from the private hot tub.

After our tour, we got on a boat to take a tour of the beautiful islands that surround Loreto. We saw rock arches, giant pods of dolphins, and coral reefs underneath the clear blue water. At one of the islands, we dropped anchor and snorkeled with the exotic fish and pretty coral. We ended our boat tour in the city of Loreto, where we walked around, shopped, and sipped on delicious margaritas.

The third and final day of our trip included a lot of laying around the pool and spa services. The spa at the resort is beautifully laid out, and feels like a luxurious retreat, featuring massage rooms, indoor whirlpools, saunas, and steam rooms! For dinner that night, we were treated to another multi-course meal at the on-site high end restaurant, featuring fresh fish caught in the Loreto bay.

When it came time to leave, we were sad to say goodbye to the beautiful scenery, incredible food, and amazing hotel staff. We can’t wait to go back!
