How to Make Guests Feel at Home During the Holidays

Christmas is almost here, which means your guests are due to arrive any day! Whether you’re planning a dinner party for friends or hosting family members for the weekend, we have got just what you need to make your guests feel at home during the holidays. We partnered with Tuesday Morning to shop their wide selection of festive fare perfect for making visitors fell welcome at this special time of year. We set the perfect holiday table perfect for an evening spent dining in, as well as a cozy nook by the Christmas tree for nighttime hot cocoa and cookies!

Just because you’re staying in, doesn’t mean things have to be ho-hum! Dress up the table with Tuesday Morning’s beautiful selection of tableware that ranges from everyday to holiday ready. We chose a gold metallic color as the accent to our otherwise white and rustic decor. Tuesday Morning had so many beautiful options to pick from including these reindeer plates and serving bowls (how cute are those!?), gold champagne flutes, and monogrammed ornaments we used as place cards. These ornaments also provided the perfect little favor for our guests to take home with them.

We also found ivory & gold threaded linen napkins, ivory candlesticks, and to warm up the table. Finally, we incorporated a few statement making pieces such as this ‘Gather Together’ wooden serving board and a metallic wreath that we used as a centerpiece. Aren’t they beautiful?!

There’s nothing better than curling up on the couch with a holiday movie and mug of hot cocoa – and we’re sure your guests feel the same! They will love to relax and enjoy the Christmas tree and a warm fire on a chilly eve. Be prepared by having plenty of cushy pillows and warm blankets on hand. We picked out the perfect cable knit throw in addition to this cute and festive ‘I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Clause’ pillow and a fluffy fur pillow from Tuesday Morning. The setup is so inviting!

A few more fun additions we sourced from Tuesday Morning are holiday mugs, bowls, and flavored hot chocolates! Because we all know a festive mug, and peppermint or gingerbread hot cocoa makes cozy time even more special! We also found this adorable copper kettle, which helps us have hot water or milk at the ready. And don’t forget the cookies!

Finally, for ambiance, we bought a yummy smelling candle and the perfect cookie tray that reads ‘Merry & Bright’. These brought those final homey touches to our living room.

You can shop these beautiful, fun, and festive pieces at your local Tuesday Morning (if you haven’t been, it’s a must visit!). In addition to holiday decor, you can save on plenty of great gifts as well and check off the rest of your holiday shopping! When all is said and done, your guests will feel so grateful for not only your hospitality, but that you went above and beyond to make them feel at home. What is a better gift than that?!
