An Intimate Fall Rehearsal Dinner

The night before saying “I do”, Tyler and Alexandra’s rehearsal dinner set the tone for their wedding weekend, celebrating their love for the fall and embracing the season’s rich hues of browns, burgundy, dark green, and gold. With heartfelt toasts and meaningful family tributes, the evening captured both their love and the spirit of the season, an intimate celebration as memorable as the day to come.

The Setting

Tyler and Alexandra’s fall wedding embraced the essence of autumn elegance, drawing inspiration from rich shades of brown, burgundy, dark green, and yellow.

With fall being Alexandra’s favorite season – and fittingly, her birthday season as well – the couple wanted something unique to kick the weekend off the night before at their rehearsal dinner. Rather than having guests match in a single color, Tyler and Alexandra flipped the script. Celebrating the colors, warmth, and romance of the season, they crafted a theme that perfectly captured their love: “falling into Forever”

Their Story

Growing up just one town apart and attending the same gym, Tyler and Alexandra had no idea the other existed – until a special mutual friend decided to play cupid!

Though the couple vowed they’d never be anything more after that first meeting, that same friend convinced them to reconnect when both were living in NYC, with Alexandra at FIT and Tyler at Columbia. Before a casual brunch with friends, Tyler arrived at Alexandra’s apartment with a giant duffel bag packed with designer shirts, asking her which he should wear – only to leave the entire bag behind in that taxi. That moment became the unexpected beginning of a love story that would make them inseparable.

After a year of being best friends – the kind everyone suspected were secretly in love – Tyler finally declared on March 8, 2019, “I’m all in. Now or never.” From that moment on, it’s been forever.

The Fashion

The bride and groom fully embraced the “Falling into Forever” theme, but with their own fashion-forward twist. The night before, Alexandra looked ethereal in a white Self-Portrait chiffon gown, while Tyler looked effortlessly chic in a beige Suit Supply sport coat, a chestnut turtleneck from AurĂ©lien, and beige Louis Vuitton boat shoes with his monogram. Truly a couple of fashion icons!

The Dinner

The rehearsal dinner was a lively and warm evening, with laughter, playful roasts, and meaningful speeches. Guests enjoyed traditional Italian cuisine, raised glasses for toasts, and sipped expertly crafted cocktails.

Amid the laughter and toasts, thoughtful details made the night truly memorable. Tyler’s mother curated the evening with a refined eye, reflecting the “Falling into Forever” theme and the warm tones of fall. She also displayed photos of married family members, including those who have passed, honoring love and family traditions.

A standout moment from the evening came when the groom’s mother delivered a heartfelt toast in Russian, after twelve lessons from the bride’s grandfather, and welcomed Alexandra with a cherished family heirloom: a single diamond necklace, a Jacobs family-tradition!

Tyler and Alexandra’s rehearsal dinner highlighted the warmth of the fall season and the connections they share with family and friends. With laughter, toasts, and thoughtful tributes, the evening set the stage for the weekend ahead. For more fall wedding inspiration, be sure to read Charlottesville Vineyard Fall Wedding!
