Boho Cactus Baby Shower

Boy, oh, boy!! This boho cactus baby shower is a party like no other, and we will be the first to comment on its cuteness! The soon to be mommy shares below how she has battled with infertility, and is beyond blessed to be able to share that she is expecting! So, its no surprise that her family wanted to shower her the best they could! And, with a shower as cute as this, you better believe that a lot of thought and preparation went into the planning process. Their efforts show through adorable details like the polaroid string wall, the tiny cactus favors, and gorgeous table setting! Our only request?… That we could have been there to congratulate this new Mom!

The mama to be and photographer, Chelsea Maras, shares…

This was an event I had dreamt about for years. We battled infertility for years, and when we found out we were expecting our first baby via IVF, I knew we had to throw the biggest celebration. Not only was it celebrating our little boy, but also the fact that our hard work and crazy journey had finally paid off. In a lot of ways, it was traditional; my mom and sister threw it for me, and it took place in my mom’s backyard. Having all the women I love the most together to celebrate this little babe was incredible. The same women who held my hands and dried my tears during all our struggles.

I love DIY projects, and since I am a wedding photographer, I brought in my dream team of vendors to help my vision become a reality. Pamela from French Bouquet did an amazing job creating a desert inspired look, and helped make all my Pinterest dreams come true! The rest of the event was filled with DIY crafts, from the custom invitations, to the painted signs, and even the cookies, made by one of my guests.

Since we are having a boy, I wanted something more gender neutral, but still boho and fun! Macrame elements were mixed in to add to the bohemian desert vibe. Baby showers in general are hard; you want some of the cheesy traditions but you also don’t want to get tied down by pink or blue, either! All the decor came together beautifully, and I felt so lucky to finally celebrate this little babe that we wished so so hard for!

Isn’t it the sweetest?! If you love a boho theme as much as we do, see this Mint & Blue Baby Shower too!
