Everything You Need for a “Margs & Matrimony” Bachelorette Trip

If there’s one theme we’ve been seeing everywhere for bachelorette parties lately, it’s “Margs & Matrimony.” And honestly, it might be our favorite. It’s festive, colorful, and practically plans the entire weekend for you. Think salty rims, bright citrus tones, and a group of your best friends raising a glass to the bride.

Whether you’re heading to Mexico or recreating the vibe closer to home, here’s everything you need to plan the ultimate Margs & Matrimony bachelorette trip.

The Mood Board

Before booking flights or ordering matching outfits, start with the visual vibe. The magic of a “Margs & Matrimony” weekend is that it naturally leans into bright colors and playful details. Our mood board is full of lime greens, woven straw hats, citrus accents, and that perfectly iced salty margarita. The aesthetic should feel tropical and fresh with subtle nods to margarita culture. Limes, margarita glasses, colorful towels, and woven textures instantly set the tone.

The Location

When it comes to this theme, there’s one destination that feels especially fitting: Mexico. Places like Cancun, Tulum, Cabo, or Riviera Maya make the theme effortless. Ocean views, beach clubs, fresh guacamole, and margaritas on repeat create the perfect backdrop for the celebration. For our trip, we headed to Dreams Sapphire Resort & Spa in Cancun, and we can confirm it’s the ultimate bachelorette destination.

If international travel isn’t in the cards, you can easily recreate the same energy in destinations like Scottsdale, Palm Springs, Miami, Austin, or San Diego. Anywhere with sunshine, a pool, and great tacos will do the trick. The goal is a setting where the group can relax during the day and celebrate at night, ideally with beach clubs, rooftop bars, or a tequila tasting sprinkled into the itinerary.

The Outfits

Half the fun of a themed bachelorette is the fashion moments, and “Margs & Matrimony” gives you plenty of room to play. For the bride, pack the essentials: a white mini dress, a chic bridal swimsuit, a “bride” clutch, a mini veil for fun photos, and all the bridal accessories. Places like Lulus and Anthropologie Weddings are great for bridal accessories and statement pieces that feel special for the weekend.

For the girls, lean into every shade of green. Think lime dresses, matching sets for travel day, playful citrus prints, or fun patterns to mix things up. Coordinated outfits make the photos even better, and trust us, there will be a lot of them.

If you don’t want to buy outfits you’ll only wear once, FashionPass and Nuuly are our go-to rental services for bachelorette wardrobes. Both offer rotating closets full of statement pieces, making it easy to coordinate looks without committing to permanent closet space.

The Favors

The welcome bags are where you can really lean into the theme and spoil your girls a little. Our goodie bags included hair clips (The Cozy Clip is our favorite), custom combs, green scrunchies, magnesium packets, Touchland hand sanitizer, lip oil, travel sunscreen, makeup wipes, and vitamin C packets for a little post-margarita recovery. Everything was tucked into custom monogrammed makeup bags, which doubled as the perfect travel keepsake.

The Activities

A great bachelorette weekend balances celebration with a little relaxation, and this theme makes it easy to plan both. Make sure there is plenty of time by the pool, soaking in the sun but if you’re up for it, some of our favorite bachelorette activities include:

  • A private yoga class to start the day
  • A spa afternoon for the group
  • A tequila or margarita tasting
  • A DIY cocktail station

Even something simple like a poolside margarita bar or a sunset toast for the bride can turn into one of the most memorable moments of the trip.

At the end of the day, the best part of a “Margs & Matrimony” weekend isn’t just the theme, it’s celebrating the bride with your favorite people, a little sunshine, and a lot of margaritas.
