Whimsical Outdoor Wedding in Nashville

Is it just us or do Southern weddings always come with such charm? This whimsical outdoor wedding in Nashville does, that’s for sure! The sweet and stunning affair took place at Historic Cedarwood, where there’s no shortage of rolling hills, green trees, and lakesides. Needless to say, the scenery was beautiful – and the wedding was just as much! Some of our favorite details include the gray floral bridesmaids dresses, the floating champagne bar, and the open air barn reception. Take a peek for yourself…

Amilia Photography shares, I’ve gotten to know Catherine and Tim this past year and I know them to be fun, joyful, and totally in love! So, of course their wedding day at Cedarwood was filled with meaningful details and so much laughter. Catherine’s dad had us in stitches with stories of Catherine growing up, and everyone hit the dance floor!

Their love story…

Catherine and Tim met during their senior year of high school in Raleigh, North Carolina while working at Smoothie King. Even though they never worked at the same time, they saw each other come in and out of the store. Halfway through the summer, Tim got free tickets to a John Mayer concert and invited Catherine to go with him! They spent the rest of the summer together. Later that year, Tim decided to attend Belmont in Nashville and Catherine started nursing school at UNCW. They navigated long distance throughout college until Catherine graduated and got a nursing job at Vanderbilt! They were so excited to be in the same city again after 4 years apart.

Catherine describes the proposal saying, “Six months after moving to Nashville, Tim completely surprised me with the most beautiful proposal at Radnor Lake. With the help of my roommate and friends, I got all dressed up to go to the lake. Once we were there I saw that Tim had a table with an old photo album we had made together sitting by the lake. Once I saw the table and photo album I knew what was happening. Everything else seems like a dream–he asked me to marry him and we celebrated that night with dinner with friends, flying out to Raleigh to see our friends and family back home, followed by a week together in Colorado skiing and exploring. It was the perfect engagement!”
