When it comes to wedding dresses, and unique wedding venues, this wedding wins! The intimate library wedding was held at the bride & groom’s alma mater where they were completely surrounded by friends & family during their vows. If that doesn’t make you swoon, the bride’s ivory and gold Truvelle gown will!
Natalie Schutt Photography shares, Leif & Kate’s Darling Library wedding was so personal & unique – from the dress to the simple layout of their day. Neither of them were afraid to mold their wedding into something special to them, something a little different. The decor was simple & elegant. Lots of bright, white light filled the room, and the garlands added just a touch of etherealness. With a unique dress, the bouquet colors were timeless greens and whites, in order to highlight the dress.
The bride shares, I wanted something a little bit different for my dress. While white wedding dresses are very beautiful, I’m not the biggest fan of the symbolism – & I wanted something a little more fun! I fell in love with the Truvelle gown I found at Love & Lace Bridal: it had a little bit of “bride” and a whole lot of personality.
My family has a long history at APU, so the library venue was a nod to that legacy. Leif and I are both alum, so it was a great way to bring it all together. Plus, we often find ourselves in deep philosophical conversations about life, faith, and theology, so we thought a library – a place dedicated to learning – would be a perfect place for our wedding ceremony.
As for the reception, Leif and I wanted to have a unique celebration with our families! A coffee and cake reception in an art gallery was the perfect way to do that! It also didn’t hurt that we have amazingly talented friends who made all the cupcakes, stationary, & played their very own live music! One of my favorite touches was the custom coffee bar! We asked my favorite coffee shop, Classic Coffee, if they would provide our favorite beverages at our wedding. They set up an espresso bar and even made a special “golden chai” drink just for our guests, it was delicious!
