Treating You to a Halloween Engagement

It’s a very Happy Halloween on our wedding blog today! This engagement shoot is here for all you brides daring enough to take on a Halloween theme! We are all in favor of swapping out traditional Halloween orange with a bright cherry red and incorporating thematic details in the classiest of ways! Candy Crush Shop did just that for this Halloween engagement with golden skulls and painted pumpkins! We’re also big fans of that “Treat Yo Self” dessert banner, not to mention the delicious treats it announces! Jeanette from Candy Crush Shop shared with us the behind the scenes details on this shoot and how she made Halloween classy NOT creepy. Enjoy!

I’m wickedly excited to share this styled engagement shoot I recently cooked up. When this couple came to us, we right away knew we wanted to create something edgy and punky & that Halloween would serve as the perfect inspiration. Staying true to traditional elements that come to mind when one thinks of Halloween was definitely the driving force behind our concept and design, but we also wanted to add a little bit of punk rock & glam to stay true to the couple’s vision. We had so much fun incorporating classic details such as black, antique black place settings, pumpkins, skulls, edgy sweet treats, and awesome calligraphy stationary with splashes of gold décor and just the right amount of black and white stripes that any Halloween engagement or wedding should incorporate. Seeing my wicked love Halloween vision come to life in a way that was still applicable to weddings was exciting. Angie of Angie Capri Photography jumped on board to round out my vision, and a bright red barn was the ideal spot for a shoot. We had so much fun playing dress up with this awesome soon to be bride and groom. I just want to do it all over again 🙂
