This bride & groom created their ideal destination wedding at the enchanting Haiku Mill in Maui. The Hawaiian affair was inspired by their french travels – so the old world elegance of this venue was a perfect fit. From a reception with crystal dripped latices overhead and a ceremony enclosed by ivy covered walls, it truly is what dreams are made of.

Colin and I knew from the start we wanted an outdoor destination wedding. We looked at dozens of venues from Mexico to Ireland. When we saw pictures of Haiku Mill in Maui we knew we found our venue – it had everything we dreamed of; strong architectural elements, exposed brick, and lots of greenery.
10 months earlier Colin proposed on the first day of our trip to France. Colin warned me when we booked this trip that this was going to be a very romantic vacation, but he was NOT going to propose. Something about timing and money.. blah blah blah. Colin is a very ‘say what he means’ kind of guy, so like a sucker I believed him. We spent the next three weeks celebrating by eating our weight in cheese and drinking champagne!
The design inspiration for the wedding came from our travels in France. Wine tones in the florals, cheese and charcuterie at cocktail hour, and a champagne tower. Fresh fruit and berries were incorporated throughout the day; grapes in my bouquet, blackberries for Colin’s boutonniere, crystal and brass bowls holding blueberries and figs.
The best part of a Maui wedding was that this was just the start of our vacation. We spent the next week drinking champagne in the pool, snorkeling, and eating macadamia nut pancakes with our family and friends!
