When we saw this blue and citrus wedding in Los Cabos, we immediately fell in love, and we’re pretty sure you will too! The cool contrast of indigo and navy against bright orange created the perfect pop of color against all of the lush greenery. With touches of fresh fruit and basket lighting, this reception can best be described as moody-tropical-chic and we wish we had been on the invite list to see everything in person. What was your biggest splurge of the day?

The biggest splurge was deciding to host three events, instead of one. We knew we wanted to spend as much time with our guests as possible and we are so happy we made the decision to spread out the celebrations over three days! We made so many wonderful memories and felt we were truly able to share in the celebrations with our family and friends. Even months later, we are continuously reminded by guests what an incredible celebration we pulled off.

What were some personal touches you included in your wedding day?

Collaborating with each of the venues (Shore Bar, Don Sanchez, and Acre) on the food and drink selections was by far the most personal touch. Hospitality was our biggest concern in planning our wedding celebrations and each venue, with the help of our wonderful planner, did a great job of being flexible, creative, and incorporating our feedback to make each event truly special for us. We also had one of our dearest friends officiate. She knows us so well and wrote the most beautiful ceremony that made everyone laugh and cry and put us totally at ease. Also, since our family and friends often call me “T” and Mark “Z”, we tried to carry that theme throughout the day, rather than more formally writing our names on everything. Leading up to the wedding, we incorporated T + Z on our website and invitation suite. We created personalized napkins for each event that included meaningful quotes, had a neon T + Z sign at the reception (that we will most certainly be hanging at home!) and carried it throughout on other printed and acrylic items.

What were your favorite moments?

The quality time spent with family and friends, poolside, at the San Jose Del Cabo Art Walk, at The Rooftop at the Cape, and at all of our wedding events. We cherish our relationships with family and friends and we were so thankful that they travelled so far to be with us and that we were able to spend time and connect with them over several days. We also loved the maid of honor and best man speeches. Both had us crying tears of laughter. Dancing during the reception was so much fun! DJ Alex was incredible and the energy only increased when I surprised Mark with a DJ set by one our best friends, David Lee (DJ Malicious Lee). And seeing the reception area for the first time before guests were seated was absolutely breathtaking. It was so exhilarating to see our vision so beautifully executed by Lynette and her team. We then got to sneak away for sunset photos while guests were seated, which was a great way to connect and celebrate just the two of us.

If you could sum up your wedding day in one sentence, how would you describe it?

Our wedding weekend was full of so much love, joy, amazing hospitality, incredible memories with family and friends, and was completely stress free thanks to our wonderful wedding coordinator, Lynette! Also, as a person who stresses over the details, the peace of mind of a wedding coordinator who gets you and doesn’t miss a beat is PRICELESS. A destination wedding (in particular, in San Jose Del Cabo) is a no brainer. We would do it again in a heartbeat!
