Glittery Gold New Year’s Eve Beauty Look

On New Year’s Eve, everyone wants to beautify themselves in a way that stands out a little more than normal. Wether you’re hitting the town or the hosting your own cocktail party, this glittery gold New Year’s Eve look is just right. The hair & makeup pros at PAGE beauty dub it the “All That Glitters Is Gold” look. We couldn’t agree more! The shimmery gold shadow, matte red lip, and fun top knot stun! Here is how you can achieve them.

For the Makeup:

Step 1:
Prep the skin with a radiant primer infused with light reflecting liquids (I used Laura Mercier Primer Radiance) to get a head start on the silver and gold complexion.

Step 2: Correct the skin with foundation and concealer; set with powder.

Step 3: Highlight the complexion with an illuminating cream over the cheekbones, bridge of the nose and tip of the chin. (I used NARS Illuminator in Copacabana in photo)

Step 4: Using a long wearing pencil in gold, fill in the lids from lash line to just above the crease. Blend with fingertip so there are no hard edges.

Step 5: Take a matching gold eye shadow and set the pencil for long-lasting wear. Use a soft shimmer that matches the skin tone along the brow bone. Finish top lash line with a final swipe of gold liner.

Step 6: Repeat the same pencil/shadow steps along the lower lash line. Curl and coat lashes in black mascara.

Step 7:
Choose a warm rose blush to complement the gold eye shadow.

Step 8:
Finish the look with a cheerful holiday red lip with a warm undertone (we used NARS Audacious Lipstick in Lana). Skip the pencil liner for a modern fresh look and apply with a precision lip brush. Blot with tissue, then reapply a final layer for lasting effect.

For the Hair:

Step 1: Pull hair into a ponytail on top of head.

Step 2: Separate into two sections. Then, tie a basic overhand knot across the front.

Step 3: Tuck each section around the knot. Then, secure with bobby pins.

Step 4: Press the topknot down and secure into with bobby pins.

Step 5: Gently pull feathery strands to softly frame the face and loosen the look.
