Garden Bumble Bee Baby Shower

Hey honey, you’re going to want to take a look at this! First of all, how cute is this theme?! The bumble bee baby shower is as sweet as honey… and features it too ;). From a cake decked out in honeycomb to a garden setting and flowers-for-your-hair bar, every detail plays off of the main idea. If you didn’t think bumble bees were cute, you sure will after this! A great theme is the perfect starting point for a shower, and we love how the mama-to-be’s best friend took it and ran with it, AND made it beautiful. Below, read her, Loren James, take on the day and see how it all panned out.

Loren says, When I found out Rachael was pregnant I immediately began imagining her baby shower but the actual planning for this event was about 3 months. Her and her husband were deciding not to find out the gender so we wanted to come up with something gender neutral. Her mother in law came up with the cutest bee theme as a nod to “What will it bee?” We added in pink and blue touches to show love to baby Smith no matter what gender he/she was. As soon as the theme was set, the invitations practically made themselves. I painted wildflowers and bees and added touches of honeycomb with lots of hand lettering. I also had to add a surprise illustration on the back for Rachael’s “fur babies,” her two Boxer dogs, Daisy and Betty.

We celebrated the soon to be mama and her baby with wildflowers, games and yummy goodies. With all the beautiful work that went into the theme, planning, and decor, I knew we absolutely needed a photographer so Rachael could relive the celebration over and over.

When talking with Joelle about photographing the event I trusted her judgement and talent completely to capture the event. We had so many details from the hair flower station and thumbprint guestbook to the floral ice bucket and she did not miss a single thing.
