Summer Desert Dinner Party

What better way to introduce summertime than with an outdoor dinner party? Tremaine Ranch planned the perfect affair for their friends in order to kick-off the season of warm nights and later sunsets. The team shares their tips with us here for hosting your perfect summer dinner party.

What we wanted for the party was to create an enticing and gender-neutral event that had an intimate feeling. We went with grays, muted yellows, moss & wine colors to help us create the mood we were wanting. One long farm table in the grass with cafe lights hanging over head made the perfect setting for our intimate dinner. When designing our layout for the evening, we realized the closer the better. We wanted our guests to feel comfortable in sharing conversation with people they had not met before- to learn something new and make a new friend! We wanted our friends to leave feeling a bit more like family and excited for the fall season (and more parties at Tremaine Ranch!).

We also had the ever-so-talented Malori Maeva of Hoot & Holler craft up some beautiful center pieces. We love the idea of adding something fresh and visually appealing to the table. Floral arrangements never disappoint in bringing just what we need and want for any event. We wanted something simple, and seasonal (but not cheesy). The florals were the last things to go onto our tables, but boy oh boy did the add so much to the final look!

Our place settings were simple, but each guest was made to feel special by having something completely different than their neighbor. A mix of gray & white plates lined each side with mismatched colored napkins.

Lindsay Ekstrom with Fancy Lou Designs specializes in table decor. The miscellaneous colored goblets were sheer perfection! They added so much to the final place settings and made our guests feel like royalty. This is one of those small details that will undoubtedly make your guests feel important (which they all are!).
