The Ultimate California Glamping Birthday Party

Glamping between the mountains just beyond Santa Barbara? Yep, that sounds like an ideal celebration to us! This California glamping birthday party is a little bit aztec and a lot cool. When we say “glamping” we mean, these rad “tents” on wheels at Blue Sky Center. And the team at Bash Please made them look even cooler with pampas grass, patterned pillows, and market lighting. Scroll on for the ultimate party inspiration in both concept and style…

The Bash Please team shares their favorite elements, saying, Summer is fast approaching and as such, we know calendars are quickly filling with bachelorette weekends, retreats, birthday glamping getaways, summer entertaining — the list goes on. We wanted to curate a laid back yet intentional shoot to help ignite design inspiration for such events. We used pieces from some amazing local (LA) creatives to help make our summer glamping shoot feel down to earth and easy to style, as if you took these items right from your living room or kitchen.

The venue, Blue Sky Center, is a non-profit doing amazing things for their community by supporting artists, farmers, creatives and makers. They host retreats, travelers, and various groups at their venue that is nestled between the desert and the mountain landscape.

The caravans were styled with Block Shop Textiles pillows for a pop of softness. Napkins are also Block Shop.. who doesn’t wan’t hand printed textiles on the table?! The sun catchers, made by LA artist Debbie Bean, added a fun color moment to the table. They can also be used as place cards!

Our Tequila Old Fashioned drinks were made with oils from fresh foraged citrus, and we smoked the ceramic mugs with palo santo for a hint of smokiness. All of the ceramics used are from Kat and Roger, another local artist team who makes the raddest vases and mugs.
