5 companies to shop that give back in a big way

If COVID-19 has taught us anything it’s that life is precious and it’s so important for us as a human race to work together and help each other out. Our team has always loved shopping small companies that give back in a big way, but our love for these companies has recently flourished. So today on the blog we are sharing our 5 favorite companies that give back!

.01 – Ripe Life Wines

Not only does Ripe Life Wines create incredible tasting wine but they also are helping create change for the healthcare workers, that are working on the front lines dealing with COVID. Right now, for every case of wine purchased (12 bottles), the company will send two complimentary bottles of wine to the customer’s health care worker of choice to thank them for their service. Also, the company is offering free shipping to everyone. As you know wine is heavy and expensive to ship, but founder Mary McAuley is determined to do what she can to keep people home and out of the stores to help flatten the curve.

.02 – Warby Parker

Warby Parker has always stood by their mission that when you buy a pair of glasses they will give a pair away to someone in need. In light of the Corona Virus that have shifted their giveback initiatives to help cater to the need for medical supplies and equipment. The majority of Warby Parker glasses purchased, personal protective equipment, and preventative health supplies will be distributed to healthcare workers and communities in need.

.03 – Women’s Bean Project

Who doesn’t eat beans every now and then or a lot? Most of us are raising our hands high in the air right now. So why not shop for your beans and some other essentials at a company that is helping make the world a better place? Women’s Bean Project is a transitional employment program serving women who have struggled to obtain and maintain employment. The women enter the role of production assistant and work in their food manufacturing business, making and packaging all the products they sell.

.04 – Mable Toothbrushes

Did you know that every single disposable toothbrush you have ever owned is still sitting on earth because they are not biodegradable? Yikes, right?! Thankfully companies like Mable are out on a mission to help stop the use of disposable plastic toothbrushes and have expanded to other bathroom essential products. Every one of their products are made ethically and with biodegradable ingredients like bamboo and cotton.

.05 – Prosperity Candle

Prosperity Candle is best explained by the company themselves, “A social enterprise that supports refugees and artisans through candle-making and beautifully crafted vessels easily refilled or repurposed for a lifetime of enjoyment. As we like to say, there’s a story behind every candle we pour.” Have we peaked your interest yet? We know that candles are super popular among our readers, and we have to say we are big fans as well. One of our favorite places to shop Prosperity Candles is The Little Market, if you are close enough to go to their store then we cannot recommend experiencing and testing out the candles in person!
