This romantic, whimsical prairie shoot is inspired by the beautiful heirloom pieces handed down in your family. I wanted to celebrate the vintage handmade craftsmanship of gorgeous wedding gowns, crochet artistry brought back in a modern way through accessories, diamond mosaic craftsmanship inspired by the 1920s in the most stunning ring, and so much more. This was all while being set in a whimsical prairie setting with lush florals that evoke a free-spirited romantic setting.
The floral inspiration came from a wildflower prairie where you would have a mix of delicate flowers, grasses, and overgrown gardens left to thrive. The combination of flowers and textures gave a very romantic feel that set the tone for the shoot. A large lush bridal bouquet with an airy design complimented the beautiful vintage wedding dress.
The ceremony was the main focus. I wanted to create that wildflower prairie feel with an organic flow to the flowers. Again, the flowers worked in harmony as they varied in height and texture down the aisle and the altar arch. The arch florals were lush but intensionally open to showcase the shape of the ironwork that had a storybook feel. Photographer Vanessa beautifully captured all this and more with XO and Fetti.

The vintage wedding dresses from boutique Maison Sully provide reimagined vintage for new modern brides that were a perfect fit. Maison Sully is also great for the sustainably fashion-minded bride-to-be. The ceremony dress with its all-over embroidered eyelet detailing, high neckline, and delicate button details is a perfect example of vintage style to fit in with today’s fashion trends. The second vintage dress for the reception is made of a Silk Moire fabric. It is perfect for dancing and celebration. Its ruffled details, wide skirt, and beaded waistline were just the perfect amounts of understated glamour.
The accessories that complement these looks are a vintage beaded clutch, white mule heals with an accent bow, and the most beautiful tiara and earrings by Edera Jewelry which specializes in creating romantic bridal accessories with a focal on heirloom craftsmanship and timeless beauty. Continuing with the wedding ring that is a show stopper on its own from Berlinger Jewelry. The large kite-shaped Diamond Mosaic ring evokes 1920’s era unique details for the one-of-a-kind bride.
The custom stationery by Claudia Strenger in soft shades of blush and pearlescent grey evokes the heirloom inspiration with its wildflower botanical details, calligraphy, and wax seals. The menu and place cards with their gold wax seal accent compliment the tabletop details from Bright Event Rentals. The wildflower theme continues through the floral print table napkins and lush table arrangements accented by bud vases while set on a blush velvet tablecloth from Luxe Linen. Whimsical spiral taper candles add a playful nod to the tablescape.

Lastly, I knew that I wanted a non-traditional wedding cake, but it still had to be unique, so the delicate Pavolva cake adorned with fresh berries, powdered sugar, and spray roses was the perfect compliment. Sweet Things By Mo created the most mouth-watering fluffy meringue layers and cream filling that gave the feel that a loving family member might have made it from a recipe passed down through the generations.
