Our New Main Squeeze Welcome Home Adoption Party

Get the tissues ready: we’ve got a sweet story to share today! This “Our New Main Squeeze” welcome home adoption party was completely adorable, and we’re obsessed with the details, but the true magic here is the story behind the adoption. Scroll down to take a look at the beautiful moments from this day (you know how we feel about a good balloon installation!), and keep reading to hear baby Alex’s story!

The planner shared with us:

You could call it a baby shower or even a sip and see, but what it really was…a Welcome (to your forever) Home party for baby Alex! This celebration that took place at the couple’s private residence in Old Town Orange was inspired by their historic little town, as well as all things fun, fresh, casual, and full of love!

We were inspired by the location and went with a Vintage California theme for the “new main squeeze!” We utilized citrus elements that we incorporated into our tablescape design. LeprouxCollective crafted the most beautiful arrangements and took the design to a divine level. Oranges, whites, greys, and denim blues made up the color palette. From the fresh fruits to the textured and patterned décor, this backyard transformed into a sweet California retreat! Guests were able to mingle in the lounge area (thank you FOUND!), enjoy a refreshment at the cocktail tables, and have a little fun playing lawn games. And of course, little vignettes for the little ones too…this was a family Sunday Funday that all could celebrate. The mixture of family-style dining and lounge seating were perfect for this special day!

To see our local Orange County Event community and RAD family come together to celebrate and support Katie and Tim was incredible to witness. We felt so honored and blessed to celebrate their new “main squeeze” and officially welcome baby Alex to his forever home and Family!

It’s not every day that you get to plan one of the most memorable events in someone’s life…we don’t take our jobs lightly and cherish what an honor it is to be a part of such milestones for clients. And, when its for your best friend and business partner, that just takes it to the next level – so blessed! If we thought planning her wedding was something, this baby shower took the cake!

Meet my business partner and bestie, Katie Webb Brundige, and her amazing husband, Tim. Katie and I co-own Intertwined Events and five years ago founded a nonprofit, RAD Camp, a summer camp program for adults and children with special needs! Katie and Tim met and fell in love at RAD Camp, and were married just a year ago! They knew they wanted to one day (emphasis on one day!) adopt a baby. But the universe had other plans…just 2 weeks shy of their first wedding anniversary, they were asked to adopt a newborn – with special needs!!! They said YES to the most awesome gift and adopted a 3-month old baby boy: say hello to baby Alex!

The process was QUICK; he was in their home within weeks and the adoption finalized 30 days later. They did not once hesitate or question anything – they said YES to a lifelong commitment and opened their hearts, set on giving this sweet baby boy the forever home he deserved. To say these two are angels walking among us is a complete understatement! RAD stands for Rising Above Disabilities and Rise Above they have! In other words, we had to RISE to the occasions too…we were not only celebrating the arrival of baby Alex but we were literally showering this new family with love, admiration, and support. How RAD!

Becoming instant parents and giving the most deserving child his forever home takes a village. While the life of this sweet baby boy is priceless, the medical bills are not. There are significant costs involved – home checks, agency fees, lawyers to travel, health care, all the costs of a newborn, and of course all his special therapies and medical visits for his needs. It’s already totaling tens of thousands of dollars to ensure the best life for this little one. Katie and Tim have helped so many of us and we know so many people out there would all love to help and support them right back!

Rather than a traditional registry, the team at Intertwined created a Go Fund Me page to support baby Alex!
