Geometric Barn Dinner Party

We’re all about the geometric designs in the barn dinner party on our lifestyle blog today!  A rustic barn setting, geometric shapes, friendship and cocktails. What’s not to love about this styled friendship dinner party!  The amazing ladies at Mint & Lovely Studios created this swoon worthy Wisconsin celebration that mixes some of our favorite elements of both modern and rustic events.

Read on to hear their vision for this party!

To set the stage for the dinner party each guest was delivered a unique invitation in a gold box. The invitation is a play on the folded triangle notes we used to pass to each other during class. As it is unfolded, a handmade friendship bracelet is revealed which guests were invited to wear to the party. Beautiful gold calligraphy (a pretty nod to the romantic calligraphy you see at many barn events) was the highlight of the invitation.  Upon arrival, guests were greeted with a make-your-own Old Fashioned bar which is a staple at any Wisconsin party. In addition to the traditional ingredients, we offered custom syrups that allowed people to put their own spin on the traditional cocktail. The bar sign offered guidance to those guests lacking inspiration of their own! Gold geometric swizzle sticks added a fun metallic touch to each guest’s drink. The backdrop behind the bar was created from hand folded triangles painted in salmon, indigo, gold, and aqua. Each were hung in strips which created a 3D geometric backdrop that could double as a fun photo booth background.

The grand 13 foot barn door table was centered in front of a large open barn door that showcased the rolling hills of Nashotah, Wisconsin. It was the perfect backdrop for a memorable dinner! Hanging above was a custom built geometric chandelier that was illuminated by gorgeous edison bulbs. The DIY light fixture was a beautiful focal point and tied into the overall theme seamlessly. Below, the table runner was hand painted in the event’s modern color scheme and was a great canvas for the vintage wooden sugar molds. Each one was filled with a mixture of tulips, ranunculus and greenery that offered beautiful color and dimension. A coordinating large floral arrangement tucked into a vase with a geometric pattern graced the bar.  Each place setting consisted of a custom calligraphy menu tucked into a metallic linen napkin, vintage flatware, and white plates that allowed the blue menus to stand out. A 3D origami gem adorned with each girl’s name directed them to their seat.
