A Mexico-Inspired Wedding in Montreal

Inspired by the vibrant charm and warm hospitality of a Mexican hacienda, Lyndsey and Martyn brought a colorful, Mexico-inspired wedding to life on the shores of Montreal’s Forest and Stream Club. Designed and planned by Stori Events, the celebration blended rich florals, open-air dining, and thoughtful cultural details with the venue’s historic lakeside setting. From a flower-filled ceremony overlooking the water to a lively reception and packed dance floor, every moment felt welcoming, joyful, and deeply personal. Beautifully captured by Julia Garcia-Prat, this wedding is a stunning example of how meaningful inspiration can be reimagined in a completely unique setting.

The Details

Lyndsey embraced two distinct bridal looks throughout the day. For the ceremony, she wore a timeless silk gown with a softly draped neckline that felt understated and elegant. When it was time to celebrate, she changed into a fitted Nadine Merabi dress complete with a thigh-high slit and subtle sparkle – a fun, fashion-forward look made for dancing the night away.

The Ceremony

With Lyndsey making her way down the aisle in a timeless silk gown, the lakeside setting came to life through a vibrant palette of red, peach, marigold, and soft sky blue. Florals and decor were at the heart of this Mexico-inspired wedding, transforming the waterfront backdrop into a richly layered, hacienda-inspired scene. The chuppah was wrapped in abundant greenery, trailing vines, and peach-toned garlands, while a floating embroidered textile added softness and movement against the blue sky and water. Lush florals lined the aisle, creating a colorful path for the couple’s vow. As an added touch, each guest was greeted with a handheld fan waiting on their chair. This thoughtful touch not only complemented the design but also offered relief from the Montreal heat.

The Newlyweds

After exchanging vows overlooking the lake, the focus shifted to the couple and the story they were celebrating. Wanting this day to feel like a reflection of both their relationship and the people who shaped it, they brought together the warmth and spirit of a Mexican hacienda with a setting that felt meaningful to the groom’s Montreal roots. With family and friends traveling from near and far, the celebration became a natural meeting point of two places, two families, and the life they had built together.

The Reception

With the tone set and guests settling into the evening, the celebration unfolded exactly as Lyndsey and Martyn had imagined. Inspired by the vibrant charm of Hacienda de San Antonio in Mexico, they wanted the reception to capture the same feeling that first drew them in: joyful colors, open-air dining, warm hospitality, and an atmosphere that encouraged guests to relax, connect, and enjoy. Together with Stori Events, that vision was brought to life at Montreal’s Forest and Stream Club, blending the spirit of a Mexican hacienda with the venue’s historic lakeside setting for a reception that perfectly reflected their Mexico-inspired wedding vision.

The Celebration

As dinner came to a close, the celebration naturally shifted into party mode. Beneath sculptural floral installations and woven parasol details suspended above the dance floor, guests gathered for what would become a packed dance floor all night long. In true Lydnsey and Martyn fashion, they skipped the traditional wedding cake altogether and went straight into the festivities, making the most of every moment with family and friends.

As the evening came to a close, it was clear that Lyndsey and Martyn had created more than just a beautiful wedding. They had created an experience that brought their favorite people together in a way that felt warm, joyful, and true to who they are. From the vibrant hacienda-inspired details to the packed dance floor, every moment reflected their love of culture, connection, and celebration.
