Set within the grounds of Cuneo Mansion & Gardens, this Italian-inspired wedding brought together heritage and celebration in a setting that felt deeply personal. Captured by Berlez and planned and designed by Yanni Design Studio, the day unfolded with a balance of elegance and warmth. From a traditional ceremony to a reception layered with winter romance, every moment felt true to Marina and Gianluca.

The Details
When planning their wedding, Marina and Gianluca wanted their Italian-inspired wedding to reflect a true joining of two families who share the same love for gathering and food! Gianluca is the life of every party and brings joy everywhere he goes, while Maria loves creating beautiful, thoughtful experiences that make people feel at home. Their goal was for the wedding to feel like the perfect balance of both.

The Ceremony
Their traditional ceremony was one of the most meaningful moments of the wedding, embodying the heart of Marina and Gianluca’s story. Held at St. Paul of the Cross Catholic Church, where Marina’s parents were married, the setting carried deep personal significance and made the moment especially emotional as she walked down the aisle with her father. She wore the Honora gown by Ines Di Santo, a winter lace design that felt romantic and regal. Taking place just days before Christmas, the church’s red and white poinsettias, evergreen garlands, and touches of gold created a warm, festive atmosphere.

The Venue
Moving from the ceremony to the reception, Marina and Gianluca celebrated at Cuneo Mansion & Gardens, becoming the final couple to host a wedding at the iconic estate featured in My Best Friend’s Wedding. Recently sold by Loyola University Chicago, the property closed its doors to weddings after their date, giving their celebration a unique place in its history. For the couple, the venue felt like an unexpected gift, offering a meaningful alternative to their original plan of marrying in Italy when their grandparents were no longer able to travel. Its Italian-inspired architecture and old-world character echoed the setting they had once envisioned abroad. In many ways, their wedding marked both a personal milestone and the quiet closing of a storied chapter for the estate.

The Reception
The reception was designed to feel formal and elevated, while still carrying the warmth of a family celebration. Working with the team at Yanni Design Studio, the decor was kept understated, allowing each detail to feel refined rather than overpowering. Set against a December backdrop, the design leaned into a soft winter palette with white florals, candlelight, greenery, and subtle gold accents. The result was a space that felt cohesive and inviting, with a quiet sense of romance throughout.

The Celebration
Stepping into the evening, Marina changed into the iconic feathered Wing gown, also by Ines Di Santo. They opened the dance floor with the tarantella, a traditional Italian dance that immediately brought guests together and set the rhythm for the rest of the night. With live saxophone, a DJ, outfit changes, and a packed dance floor, the celebration carried an easy momentum throughout the evening.

This Italian-inspired wedding at Cuneo Mansion & Gardens was a meaningful reflection of heritage brought to life through thoughtful details and a deeply personal setting. From an emotional ceremony to a reception filled with warmth and winter romance, every moment felt intentional without losing its ease.
