Pick your pattern and your paint and you’re all set! It really is as easy as it sounds! We love this gold and white combination on the cork background, making the coasters fit easily into any space or entertaining decor. This is a fun, cute way to get exactly what you want with just an inexpensive trip to the craft store! And when all your friends ask about them, you can proudly claim them as your own! After you’ve made them for yourself, spend just 5 minutes more to give as the perfect hostess gift!

Supplies:
Paint brushes
Sponge circle brush
Painters tape
White paint
Gold spray paint
Cork squares

Step 1

Place the painters tape on the cork squares in the desired pattern.  This might require you to cut the tape in half to get thinner lines.  Feel free to try anything and everything…this is where you get to be creative!  Press the tape hard into the cork so no paint can seep through (this is especially important when trying to get crisp stripes).

Step 2

Paint the exposed cork with either a white paint or the gold spray paint.  Make sure to coat the entire surface evenly.  You will probably want to give the paint a couple of layers to make the color really stand out against the cork!

Step 3

Once the paint is dry to the touch, gently peel the painters tape off of the cork squares.  Make sure to go slowly, you don’t want to pull pieces of the cork up!  With lines we recommend waiting a little longer than necessary to ensure the paint doesn’t bleed.  That’s it!  Now you have some fun drink coasters that are sure to impress all of your guests!
