Move over pastels, matte is the new black! This gorgeous 7-course dinner party features black and dark blue tones which are softened by matte finishes—and we absolutely love it! Dutch still life paintings that served as backdrops set the overall tone of the décor, as fresh produce dripping from vases and wood boards added a relaxing and “undone” feel. While brighter colors are in season, blooms that boast darker, richer tones with interesting textures, such as black succulents and dahlias, were incorporated. To keep the flower arrangements at the forefront of the design, the containers and candlesticks were also painted black and blue, further adding to the monochromatic palette.

When Nathaniel fromContemporary Caterering asked me to jump on board to produce the shoot, I was honored and couldn’t wait to work with Carissa Jones of JL Designs and Cortnie Purdy of Canvas and Canopy. The three of us worked on my wedding and we work and mesh together so well!

I was particularly fond of the exceptional cheese bar and cafe… the personalized cheese boards were to die for! I was thrilled to incorporate wine from One Hope Weddings into the shoot, as all proceeds from the wine go to great causes.
