This sweet room is about as plush and luxurious as a nursery can get! Mom + Dad, Ashley & Dallas Malone, put their vision for a soft and feminine blush nursery in the hands of designer Alyssa at CoCo+Jack. The result? A space as bright and beautiful as baby Isla Mae.

I wanted the space to feel light, feminine, soft, luxurious and welcoming, for not only ourselves but also a place Isla could grow into. I’m always drawn of white spaces filled with a mix of patterns and wanted that pulled into the nursery design. It was also key that the room wasn’t too pink, so Alyssa opted for subtle touches in the bedding and accessories. A few other elements that were a must on the list were wallpaper, wood moldings and a flamingo – the bird of The Bahamas. While Isla was born in Canada, it was nice to bring in Dallas’s Bahamian heritage, hoping one day she’ll be a little island girl 🙂 I’m so in love with the vignette she created with the ornate mirrors on either side of the felt flamingo head. It’s the perfect place for Isla to look up and admire while she’s getting changed.

Who knew finding artwork was so hard….and expensive! Alyssa and I went back and forth between a few pieces, but being a graphic designer I was struggling to find something I loved. I opted to design a simple XO graphic and had it printed by a local vendor, Simply Sealed. It’s simple but thoughtful.

I knew early on that I wanted to breastfeed our girl and read her lots of stories, so it was vital to have a comfy place to relax. We found this great glider from WayFair that was not only plush but stylish. One day I hope to transfer the chair to another place in our house.
