A Trendy Budget Friendly Friendsgiving

When it comes to the holidays, getting together with family and friends is something we always look forward to. Plus, it provides the perfect opportunity to host pretty parties! We love this trendy, budget friendly Friendsgiving for those reasons exactly – it’s modern and eclectic in style, and easy to pull off with little cost! The ladies behind this simple soiree, Bekka & Michelle, describe just how you can accomplish a Friendsgiving dinner of your own. With their innovative suggestions, we know you’ll pull it off!

Bekka shares, I knew I wanted to put together a stylized Friendsgiving shoot as soon as pumpkin-everything started to be put out in stores. There is just something about fall that I absolutely adore. The food, the weather, (although Southern California missed the memo on cold weather this fall). All in all I’m a huge fan of the beginning of the holiday season.

When I approached Michelle to collaborate on a shoot, she immediately offered up this amazing space to work with! The natural light in this house was absolutely fabulous. We chatted about wanting to create a budget friendly, slightly hipster and yet organic vibe for a small Friendsgiving get together. It was amazing to see the vision we had for the shoot come alive.

Michelle shares, “I always love mixing old with new when I style events! Vintage treasures with recent store bought items (hello Target & HomeGoods- those macramé curtain panels!!), seemed fitting especially when throwing a Friendsgiving where often times you’re blending old friends with new.

The historic bones of this 1920s home lent the perfect backdrop for our shoot. I used a scarf from H&M as our table linen (because who doesn’t have a cute scarf laying around) and blended  in different textures with placemats and napkins. I kept it simple with minimal plants and succulents, added in mismatched chairs, hot glued fresh-cuts to that beautiful calligraphy piece, and black taper candles …YES!!! I loved working with Bekka in styling this event. It was so fun to mesh everyone’s talents together!!”
