Yellow Lakeside Wedding in Harbor Springs

This sunny-yellow lakeside wedding couldn’t be any sweeter. The bride & groom’s memories of the day combined with Dan Stewart’s stunning photographs, give us an intimate picture of the Harbor Springs nuptials. The summery color palette and Little Traverse Bay venue are a few of our favorite parts. However, the joyous couple and all their doting family & friends take the cake (which is also pretty sweet!). We hope you love the beautiful Lake Michigan wedding as much as we do!

Whitney & John’s wedding was certainly one for the books. The natural beauty of Harbor Springs, MI, as the backdrop. The beautiful bride and groom promising themselves to each other in the presence of their friends and family who had traveled miles to witness such a special event. The spontaneous downpour of rain that brought with it a special time of reminiscing and revisiting old childhood memories with the bridal party. Every element and detail came together in a way that only happens once in a lifetime to create the perfect day for Whitney & John.

Having both been raised in Harbor Springs, Whitney & John wanted that special Northern Michigan town (as well as Little Traverse Bay) to play a significant part in their wedding. “We were born and raised in Harbor Springs, and our home is very important to us. In our minds, it was not even a question where we would have our wedding.”

It was a morning of laughter, love, and excitement. “From the moment I woke up to the moment I arrived at the church with my parents, I was waiting for the overbearing nervousness to set in because I really dislike standing up in front of people. But to my surprise, I was very calm. I realized it was because I was so thrilled to finally marry John.” And soon that moment arrived. With guests gathered in the pews of the beautiful Harbor Springs church, Whitney began making her way down the isle with her father toward the man that would soon become her husband. “First and foremost, the moment that I saw Whitney begin walking down the aisle sticks out to me the most. It took a lot to hold myself together emotionally.”

The emotion, the meaning, the committed love- It was truly a very special ceremony for Whitney & John, and it was a privilege for all in attendance to witness it. From a beautiful ceremony to photos in and around Harbor Springs and then on to a rocking reception, Whitney, John, and their wedding guests were just getting started with this special celebration.

“A particularly emotional moment for me was when John and I arrived together at the reception to our cheering friends and family. I was overwhelmed with gratitude for all of the love and support from those who mean the very most to each of us.” Speeches and toasts, dinner and dancing. Everything was done with meaning and love and the thrill of this new union. Whitney & John, it was an absolute privilege to join you two and your closest family and friends on your special day. We couldn’t be happier for you both, and we wish you nothing but the absolute best.
