Yosemite National Park Engagement Photos

Embarking on marriage isn’t the only adventure for this cute couple on our wedding blog today. They decided Yosemite National Park was the perfect place to capture their engagement session and the fun and exciting love they have for each other. Dawn Photography says, “Kelli & Zach wanted a unique engagement shoot! They wanted to hike around, feel the fresh air, and get photos taken somewhere epic. We decided Yosemite was the perfect place for that!” We couldn’t agree more!

The bride to be, Kelli, shares, Ever since we first started dating, Zach and I have loved camping. It’s always an adventure for us and this particular trip was no exception. We planned to go for the weekend and Zach suggested we bring our dog, which was slightly out of character for him because our dog does not like cars. I brushed it off, not really thinking anything of it, and proceeded to count down the days until we would be relaxing and eating s’mores together. As we were packing to leave, Zach was pretty adamant about having a tripod for our camera. I told him plenty of times that it wasn’t necessary and that we would make due, but he wouldn’t leave without one. Later on, it made complete sense why he needed the tripod. Zach and I took pictures at a hiking spot nearby and around our campsite with our dog using the camera’s multi-shot setting. Which is when he said that after dinner, we should take one more set of pictures. While I was setting up the camera, he rushed to our tent for a quick second (he told me after that this is when he grabbed the ring), and went back to stand in front of the camera. I walked over to stand next to him, fully focused on taking the pictures, when I saw from the corner of my eye he was moving. I ignored his movements at first then caught him dropping the ring and the box, nervously trying to pick them up, and get down on one knee before the timer ran out. Everything else was really a blur. I vaguely remember him asking “Kelli, will you go on adventures with me for the rest of your life?” I was so shocked, and without answering him, I grabbed the ring from the box and shoved it on my finger. After crying for close to 30 minutes, he asked “So is that a ‘yes’?” I nodded, smiling through my tears. Once we gained our composure, it was everything we could do to not just pack up and head home to share the news. It was truly an unforgettable weekend and now every time we go camping I think of the moment my life changed forever.
