‘The Notebook’ Inspired First Anniversary Photos

We can’t be the only ones that have dreamed of living out this lakeside scene from The Notebook. Rowing along the lake with your person is something most people only dream of, but for Savannah & Ritchie, this dream is how they celebrated one year of marriage. We are smitten with the Notebook inspired first anniversary photos, captured by Abigail Jill Photography. She says, “Savannah and Ritchie are head over heels for each other. It was so lovely to celebrate their togetherness, for life, in such a beautiful setting. Their smiles were abundant as the sun poured beautifully into each shot.” From the adoring looks exchanged between the newlyweds to the scenic views of the lake, this photoshoot is a must-see for every hopeless romantic out there!

Savannah shares, In a rowboat with the man of my dreams…reminds me of one of my favorite movies, The Notebook. Our relationship began very similar to the well loved Noah and Ally’s. During high school, Ritchie was perusing me, but I played hard to get. I gave in and let him take me to his high school prom, but after that, we lost touch while he was in basic training and I was completing my senior year of high school. Upon Rtichie’s return from basic training, we went out on a date and everything from that point forward is history.

Our relationship has been full of long distance with Ritchie first being stationed in Germany and then Virginia and I, attending college in Ohio. Over our 4.5 years of dating, we learned that time together is extremely valuable and we have done our best to embrace adventure along the way. I would describe our first year of marriage as an exhilarating adventure with my best friend. Like Abigail has captured in these photos, we are always up for a challenge, as long as we are in it together. In our first year, we have moved to the Washington, DC area, traveled to Brazil, started new careers, gone skydiving, and will soon be moving to Richmond, VA. No matter what life throws at us, as long as I have my adventure-loving-man, we can make it through anything.
