Romantic Micro-Wedding at a California Vineyard

Nothing warms our hearts more than a couple that against all odds fought for their wedding day to happen. We have read story after story of couples that have been affected by COVID-19 all in different ways, and this gorgeous duo is no exception. These two had to switch around their wedding plans, but ultimately their romantic micro-wedding at a California Vineyard turned out better than expected. We have to say their story is as sweet as it gets!

The photographer shares a behind the scenes look at what it took this couple to get their romantic micro-wedding,

“This beautiful couple had put off their wedding prior to the COVID-19 pandemic.  John wanted to enter into the police academy, and they agreed to finish planning the wedding once his studying was completed.  Once he graduated and became a local depute, their wedding was back on. As the world came to a halt, so did their wedding.  Bride-to-be, Caitlin, contacted me saying they had decided to rent an airbnb with a beautiful vineyard on site to host their new wedding. As time went on, the airbnb had changed their agreement and became way too difficult to work with.  In hysterics, Caitlin calls asking if I knew of a pretty tree they could get married under.  She mentioned, “it could be on the side of the freeway for all I care at this point.  I just want a place that has a pretty backdrop where John and I can say ‘I do'”.  To put the cherry on their 2020 sundaes, John was let go from the Police force.

This poor couple had gone through a horrible roller coasters ride and all they wanted to do was be married. Luckily for them, I did know of a beautiful tree that they could get married under, and it’s a private residence! Once I told the owner of the property their situation, without any questions he offered his property to the couple. To surprise the couple and make the property feel as if it were their original plan, we brought in a florist and set up a beautiful ceremony display.  The couple and their families were beyond grateful for giving them a chance to move forward in their lives together as a married couple. The couple not only got their pretty tree, but their happily ever after! Stories like this make me appreciate my job as a wedding photographer. Even during a global pandemic, this couple did not let anything stop them from becoming husband and wife. It only made them grow stronger as a couple. That is love!”
