Inspired by Elizabeth Jenkins from InStyle weddings

elizabeth-jenkinsElizabeth Jenkins is the epitome of all that InStyle Magazine stands for; she is smart, fresh and always in style. She spent four years as an editor for both InStyle and InStyle Weddings Magazines and now is  a freelance writer and contributor for both. Interviewing celebrities to write their real wedding stories and finding the top trends and products to feature has given her a great deal of clout in our industry and qualified her as an expert in weddings.

Wedding Planners listen to this! Elizabeth told me, “People always ask me if I’d like to become a wedding planner and I always tell them no, simply because I don’t think I have the patience for it. I have so much respect for wedding planners because many brides are indecisive and emotional and…dare I say…a little crazy?” Do you not love her for giving a shout out to planners and how hard they work? I am glad that she isn’t jumping ship! She’s too good to lose from the publishing side of the wedding world.

For someone who is consistently being invited to celebrity events, hobnobbing with the who’s who in the magazine, fashion and wedding industry as well as being highly acclaimed by all who have published or read her work, one would think she may have a little chip on her shoulder. Not Elizabeth! She is as real, warm, inviting, and good hearted as it gets. Even with a resume of credits including: Real Simple, Health, C (the California lifestyle magazine), O at Home and the U.K.’s Homes & Gardens.  She is one of the most phenomenal women and editors in our business and I am fortunate enough to work with her and proclaim her goodness to all of you!

Check out where some of her work has been published. Amazing right? I am so her #1 fan!

When she isn’t writing Elizabeth is spending time with her cute little family, consisting of her husband Lee (who is also a mag maven!) and their son Austin. When asked what inspires her, she said, “I would say I am inspired by all of the creative people I’ve gotten to know since starting at InStyle in 2003. I love meeting and interviewing people who design–whether their specialty is parties, flowers, stationery, clothing, cakes or interiors.”

Below is the most recent feature she has in InStyle Weddings. Love it!
