Massachusetts Summer Wedding

This picturesque summer wedding on a farm in Massachusetts is the perfect combination of elegant and relaxed. The outdoor ceremony, under a magnificent oak, and tented reception strung with lights in the wide open field made it an effortlessly beautiful affair. The bride’s vision came together in stunning capacity and here’s how..

What we envisioned from the beginning was a tent wedding, in a field, surrounded by woods and mountains during summer. We also knew we didn’t want a ‘venue’ that would prepare everything for us. I am a film production designer and stylist and I wanted to customize our wedding to fit our vision. We realized after a few months of searching, that the perfect wedding location would be the farm in my hometown.

We wanted the wedding to be about friends, family, delicious food, great music, and most especially love! We worked with Mezze Catering from Williamstown, MA to create a farm to table menu. Mezze specializes in sourcing food from local farmers which was very important to us. We incorporated local peaches for the place settings, locally made peach soda, and favors of local honey.

We wanted to create an environment that was both elegant and relaxing, with an intimate warm feeling at dinner so we combined the tables to create a family style seating arrangement. I wanted the florals to be as seasonal, and complimentary to the setting. Lush garlands of Rosemary, Lemon leafs, Geranium leafs, and Queen Anne’s Lace draped the tables, while garlands adorned the entrance to the tent.

We were married underneath my favorite oak tree on the property, surrounded by our friends and family. For the reception I wore a crown of wildflowers, and our first dance was “Harvest Moon” By: Neil Young. As the evening set in, our shoes came off and we danced barefoot in the grass, the candles and bistro lights illuminated the tent with a warm glow amongst the night sky. The night ended with a brilliant firework display, almost descriptive of our joyous day filled with excitement and love.”
